Vacuums & Hoovers

These machines clear grit, sand and dust from carpets, boots and footwells and from a garage or unit floor, and the wet and dry models pick up water too. Every machine here is from Kiam: the DTLR Valet Vac 15L, the twin and triple motor KV60 industrial wet and dry vacuums, and SiteVac L-Class and M-Class dust extractors.

How to choose

  • Valeting cars: the DTLR Valet Vac (1200W, 240V) is the compact one, easy to move around a car and between jobs.
  • Heavy daily use: the KV60-2 (2400W, two motors) and KV60-3 (3000W, three motors) are for valeting bays and units picking up water and grime all day.
  • Sanding and site dust: the SiteVacs carry a dust class. L-Class is for general low hazard dust, M-Class for more harmful dust such as wood, filler and concrete dust.

Good to know

  • 110V SiteVacs need a site transformer, not a household socket. For a home garage, choose a 240V model such as the 240V SiteVac or DTLR Valet Vac.
  • A vacuum lifts loose dirt only. For stains in seats and carpets, see Extractors & Steam Cleaners.

What is the best vacuum for car valeting?

A compact wet and dry vacuum that is easy to move round the car, such as the DTLR Valet Vac 15L (1200W, 240V), which also picks up water after shampooing. Valeting bays that run all day suit a twin or triple motor machine such as the Kiam KV60-2 or KV60-3. Our guide to cleaning car seats and carpets covers the rest.
