Glass Compounds

A glass compound is an abrasive polish made for glass. Worked by machine on a glass pad, it takes out wiper arcs, water spots and light scratches that a glass cleaner cannot shift. The range is CarPro CeriGlass, as a 250ml bottle or a kit, and Sonax PROFILINE Glass Polish.

How to choose

• Check the mark first: run a fingernail across it. If the nail catches, the scratch is too deep to polish out safely; haze, wiper arcs and etched water spots are what these compounds are for.
• Pad: use a firm pad from Glass Polishing Pads; a soft foam paint pad does little on glass, which is far harder than paint.

Good to know

• Keep the pad moving and the glass cool: work a small area at a time and stop if it gets hot to the touch, as heat can crack a screen, especially on a cold day.
• Mask the rubber seals and trim around the glass first with Masking Tapes. Afterwards, clean the screen and protect it with one of our Glass Sealants.
