Applicator Pads

An applicator spreads a product by hand in a thin, even layer, with no heavy patches left to buff off. The range covers foam and microfibre pads for wax, sealant and polish, ceramic coating applicators, tyre dressing applicators, finger applicators and swab kits, from Maxshine, Mammoth Microfibre, CarPro and our own TDHQ range.

How to choose

• Wax, sealant and polish: foam pads spread waxes and sealants thin and smooth. Microfibre-faced pads have more bite for working in a hand polish or a cleaner wax.
• Coatings: use a dedicated applicator, such as the Nano Ceramic Applicator Block or the Maxshine Microfibre Coating Applicator. Wax or dressing left in a used pad can stop a coating bonding.
• Tyres: a tyre dressing applicator such as our own TDHQ Tyre Dressing Applicator keeps dressing on the sidewall and off your hands and wheels.
• Small areas: finger applicators and swabs such as the ChemicalWorkz FOM Coating Swabs get into badges, lettering and the gaps around lights.

Good to know

• Cured coating will not wash out of a cloth, swab or pad.
• Give each wax, polish or dressing its own pad. Wash reusable pads with one of our Microfibre Washes and let them dry fully before storing.

What is the best applicator pad for car wax?

A foam applicator, which spreads wax and sealant thin and even. A microfibre-faced pad has more bite, so it suits a hand polish or a cleaner wax better than a plain wax.
