About the range
Citrus Pre-Wash
Citrus pre-wash is sprayed on before the contact wash to break down traffic film, dead bugs and oily road grime, mostly on the lower panels, bumpers and the front of the car. The range covers citrus pre-washes such as Dodo Juice Crudzilla, Yum Citrus Pre-Wash and Mosschem Citrus Wash, and traffic film removers (TFR) such as Equip2clean P10 Traffic Film Remover in a 25 litre drum.
How to choose
- Citrus or TFR: a citrus pre-wash suits regular washes. A TFR is stronger, for heavy winter grime or a car left unwashed for months.
- Dilution: concentrates such as Yum Citrus Pre-Wash mix stronger for winter muck and bugs, weaker for a maintenance wash.
- Wax and coatings: strong mixes wear wax and sealant down faster, so on a protected car check the label.
Good to know
- Spray a cool panel from the bottom up with a pump sprayer (Pressure Sprayers), leave it for the time on the label, brush badges and grilles, and rinse before it dries.
- Tar spots need a dedicated tar remover, such as AutoBead Tar Gel or others in Tar & Glue Removers.
Is citrus pre-wash worth it?
Yes, when the car is dirty. It loosens traffic film, bugs and oily grime so they rinse away before the mitt touches the paint. Less grit then gets dragged around in the contact wash.
