Glass Cleaners

Glass cleaners take off the film, fingerprints and road grime that make a screen glare at night and smear under the wipers. Alongside plain cleaners such as Stjarnagloss Glas, CarPro Clarify and Stoner Invisible Glass, the range has water-repellent and anti-fog cleaners, screen washes and a pre-icer for winter.

How to choose

• Plain or repellent: plain cleaners leave nothing on the glass, so use them inside and before a sealant or coating. CarPro Clarify Phobic, Dunking Biscuit Optik and Stoner Clean & Repel also leave a light water-beading layer outside.
• Inside the car: Dunking Biscuit Vision Anti-Fog cleans the inside of the screen and helps stop it misting.
• Washer bottle and winter: concentrated screen washes such as Dodo Juice Spirited Away go in the washer bottle; Car-Chem Pre Icer goes on before a frost.

Good to know

• Use two dedicated glass cloths, one to clean and a dry one to buff; a towel used with wax or detailer will smear (see Glass & Interior Cloths).
• Inside, spray the cloth rather than the glass so overspray stays off the dashboard. On aftermarket tint film, check the cleaner is ammonia-free.
