Interior Coatings

An interior coating is the longer-lasting alternative to a protectant spray: a thin layer that bonds to a clean surface. The range has the AutoBead Leather Coating, so spills, sweat and dye from jeans wipe off leather seats and trim instead of working in, and the CarPro Fog Fight kit, an anti-fog coating for the inside of the glass.

How to choose

  • Coating or protectant: a coating takes more preparation and time to cure but is made to last longer between applications. For a quick wipe-on top-up, look at Leather Protection.
  • A coating protects leather but does not soften it. If the leather already feels dry or stiff, a conditioner is what it needs: see Leather Conditioners.
  • Screens that mist up inside: CarPro Fog Fight goes on clean interior glass. See also Anti-Fog Treatments.
  • For cloth seats and carpets, see Fabric Coatings. For dashboards and door plastics, Plastic & Vinyl Protectants.

Good to know

  • Deep clean first with a product from Leather Cleaners and let the leather dry fully: the coating seals in whatever is left underneath.
  • Apply it to bare leather, not over a conditioner or dressing, and keep the seats out of use for the full curing time in the instructions.
