Wheel Brushes

Wheel brushes reach where a mitt cannot: between and behind the spokes and across the inner barrel, where brake dust builds up. We stock EZ Detail brushes, Maxshine wool and microfibre brushes such as the Maxshine Ultimate Wool Wheel Brush, and Mammoth Flossmeister microfibre wash bands.

How to choose

  • The job: brushes and wands go through the spokes to the barrel. Belts wrap round a spoke and are pulled back and forth like floss. For the wheel face and nuts, use a soft brush from Detailing Brushes.
  • Size: small and flat brushes fit tight spokes and the gap round the caliper. Large ones are quicker on open wheels.
  • Angled or straight: an angled head hooks behind the spokes to the back of the barrel. A straight wand pushes through wide gaps more easily.
  • Material: wool and microfibre heads are soft enough for painted, polished and coated wheels. The Maxshine flat brushes take a replacement cover when worn.

Good to know

  • Work one cool wheel at a time with one of our Wheel Cleaners and rinse before it dries. Keep wheel brushes off paint: brake dust is gritty metal and scratches.

What is the best brush for car tyre cleaning?

A firm brush made for tyres. Wheel brushes have soft heads for painted and polished wheels, so keep a separate stiffer one from Tyre Brushes for the rubber, used with a tyre cleaner.
