Bike and motorbike cleaners, washes, chain cleaner and frame sealant for road bikes, mountain bikes and motorbikes. How to choose

• Spray cleaners: Crankalicious Pineapple Express is a bike spray wash concentrate you dilute 1:3 with water, and Tenzi Bike Cleaner is an all-in-one cleaner for bicycles that Tenzi says suits motorcycles too. Diamond Performance Motorbike Cleaner is pH neutral and non caustic, for regular cleaning.
• Heavy mud: Tenzi Mud Off is a ready-to-use cleaner for bicycles, motorcycles, quads and off-road vehicles that you leave for a minute or two and rinse off.
• Bucket wash, chain and protection: Crankalicious Mud Honey is a pH-neutral foaming bucket wash at 2 to 3 capfuls per bucket, Gumchained Remedy is a solvent chain cleaner and degreaser, and EnduroBike Frame Sealant repels water and mud and is safe with stickers and decals.

Good to know

• Clean a cool bike out of direct sunlight, agitate with a soft brush or mitt and rinse thoroughly with low-pressure water.
• Keep degreaser and sealant off brake discs, pads and rims: Crankalicious says its frame sealant is for bike surfaces except brakes and rims.
• Re-lube the chain once it is clean and dry, as a degreaser leaves it bare.

How do you clean a bike or motorbike?

Rinse off the loose mud, spray a bike cleaner over the frame and wheels, leave it a minute or two, agitate with a brush and rinse it off with low pressure. Degrease and re-lube the chain, then seal the dry frame so mud sticks less on the next ride.
