About the range

Tyre Coatings

A tyre coating is made to outlast a dressing: applied to clean, dry rubber and left to cure, it holds up through more rain and washes and does not sling once cured. The range includes CarPro Perl Tyre Coating.

How to choose

  • Spray or wipe on: an aerosol is the quickest way round four tyres, while a liquid worked in with an applicator pad gives more control next to the wheel.
  • Coating or dressing: a coating usually dries to a natural satin black. For a wet-look shine, or a quick top-up after every wash, choose a dressing from Tyre Dressings.

Good to know

  • Scrub the tyre with one of our Tyre Cleaners until the foam comes off white, rinse and let the rubber dry completely. A coating put over old dressing sits on the dressing, not the rubber, and comes off with it.
  • Coat the sidewall only, never the tread, wipe any overspray off the wheel and brakes, and give it the full cure time on the label before driving in the wet.

Is tyre coating worth it?

If you want fewer top-ups, yes. Once cured on clean, dry rubber it outlasts a dressing and stays put instead of slinging onto the paint. The trade-off is the prep and cure time, and it dries to a satin black rather than a wet look.
