Wheel Wash Mitts

A dedicated wheel mitt keeps brake dust and road grime away from the mitt you use on the paint. Wheel mitts are made to get into the places a body mitt cannot: between spokes, into the barrel and round the wheel nuts. The range covers CarPro and FibreKing wheel mitts, Mammoth mini mitts and Maxshine finger mitts in two-packs, and the Mammoth Flossmeister wash band.

How to choose

• Wheel mitt (CarPro, FibreKing): covers the face of the wheel quickly and reaches into the barrel through open spoke designs.
• Mini and finger mitts (Mammoth, Maxshine): fit through tight multi-spoke wheels and round the nuts. The two-packs give you a fresh one when the first is loaded with brake dust.
• Wash band (Mammoth Flossmeister): a microfibre band with a strap at each end, pulled back and forth between the spokes.

Good to know

Spray the wheels with a product from Wheel Cleaners first and wash them from their own bucket. Brake dust is full of metal particles, so a wheel mitt never goes back on the paint and is washed apart from your paint microfibres.

How do you clean between alloy wheel spokes?

Spray on a wheel cleaner and let it dwell, then work a mini or finger mitt, or a wash band, through the gaps between the spokes and into the barrel. Rinse the mitt often in its own wheel bucket so brake dust is not dragged back over the wheel. Our alloy wheel cleaner guide compares the cleaners.
