Hoses & Hose Reels

A longer hose lets you work right round the car without moving the machine, and rubber kinks less than the plastic hose many home machines come with. There are rubber hoses with Karcher Click, M22, TEMA and quick release ends, 20 to 60 metre hose reels, DTLR2 wall-mount frames and reels from Kiam, and hose guides and rollers from Mammoth and Maxshine.

How to choose

• Ends: match both ends to your machine and gun; the Karcher K series hoses have Click bayonet or M22 ends.
• Bore and rating: a 5/16 inch hose loses less pressure over a long run than a 1/4 inch one. Its bar rating must be above your machine's maximum: our 3/8 inch quick release hoses are rated 220 and 250 bar.
• Storage: reels keep the hose coiled without kinks; the DTLR2 Lite and PRO come as frame and reel, or as the Caddy frame only.

Good to know

• Set hose guides or rollers at the wheels so the hose cannot drag grit along the sills or snag under a tyre.
• A crushed or driven-over hose can burst under pressure: replace it.

Does a longer hose affect a pressure washer?

A long run loses some pressure, which is why a wider 5/16 inch bore suits a long hose better than a 1/4 inch one. Check that the bar rating is above your machine's maximum and that both ends match your machine and gun.
