Wheel Sealants

A wheel sealant is the quick way to protect wheels: wiped or sprayed on after a clean, it helps brake dust and grime rinse off and is easy to top up. The range covers sealants such as DoDo Juice Wheel Sealer, Infinity Wax Ghost and Sonax XTREME Protective Wheel Rim Sealant, and wheel waxes from Angelwax and Chemical Guys.

How to choose

• Sealant or coating: a sealant goes on after a normal clean with no long cure and is reapplied more often; Wheel Coatings last much longer but need full decontamination and cure time.
• Wheels and tyres together: Sonax XTREME Ceramic Tyre and Rim dresses the tyre and seals the wheel from one bottle.

Good to know

• Clean the wheel with a fallout cleaner from Wheel Cleaners and let it dry before sealing: sealant put over grime locks it in.
• Keep sealant off brake discs and pads, and use a product made for wheels: a paint wax soon breaks down under brake heat. The one product here meant for the discs is Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper, sprayed on after the rinse to stop flash rust.
