Glazes

A glaze is a gloss product for between polishing and waxing: it fills very fine swirls and adds depth, so the paint looks wetter and richer. The range has glazes made for dark or for light paint from Infinity Wax, Alchemy and Poorboy's World, alongside Infinity Wax Super Glaze, Sam's Detailing Glaze and Stjarnagloss Glasyr Protective Glaze.

How to choose

• Pick by paint colour: Infinity Wax Dark Glaze, Alchemy Dark Matter and Poorboy's Black Hole are for dark colours; Infinity Wax Light Glaze and Alchemy Light Matter for white, silver and light colours.
• Most glazes need a wax on top to protect them; Stjarnagloss Glasyr is sold as a protective glaze.
• You do not need a machine: glazes go on by hand with a foam applicator, or by machine on a soft finishing pad.

Good to know

• A glaze hides light swirls, it does not remove them: washing wears the fillers away and the marks come back. To remove them, polish first (Paint Correction).
• Leave the glaze out under a ceramic coating: the coating needs bare paint, and the panel wipe before it takes the glaze straight off.
