The compound and the pad do the correcting. This is the kit around them: tape to protect trim, a light to see the defects, cleaners to keep pads cutting and panel wipe to show the true finish. How to choose

• Before you polish: Masking Tapes cover rubbers, badges and panel edges, and Paint Inspection Lights show the swirls that garage lighting hides.
• While you polish: Pad Cleaning keeps the pad cutting evenly, and Polishing Microfibres buff off the residue.
• After polishing: Panel Wipe & IPA takes the polishing oils off so a wax, sealant or coating can bond.
• Between jobs: Pad Storage keeps clean pads off the bench, and Machine Accessories has replacement motor brushes for the DAS-6 Pro polisher.

Polishing oils fill fine swirls and can make a panel look finished when it is not. Wipe each section with panel wipe before you judge it under the light.

Do I need to use panel wipe after polishing?

Yes, before any wax, sealant or coating. Polishing oils fill fine swirls, so the paint can look finished when it is not, and they stop a coating bonding.
