Tyre Cleaners

Tyre cleaners strip the brown bloom, old dressing and road film out of the rubber, so the sidewall looks black again and a new dressing goes on evenly instead of sitting on old residue. The range splits into dedicated tyre and rubber cleaners such as CarPro ReTyre, Shiny Garage Pure Black Tire Cleaner and YumCars Undress, and combined wheel and tyre cleaners such as 303 Wheel & Tire Cleaner. Our guide on how to remove tyre browning shows the method step by step.

How to choose

  • Dedicated or combined: a dedicated tyre cleaner is made for browning and built-up dressing. A combined wheel and tyre cleaner does both jobs from one bottle, handy for a maintenance wash.
  • Rubber and trim: CarPro ReTyre, YumCars Undress and DoDo Juice Pneu Look are made for rubber or trim as well as tyres.

Good to know

  • Scrub it in with a stiff brush (Tyre Brushes), rinse, and repeat until the foam comes off white rather than brown.
  • Let the tyre dry fully before applying a dressing from Tyre Dressings. On damp rubber it goes on patchy.

How do you get rid of brown tyres?

The brown is bloom, old dressing and road film in the rubber. Scrub a tyre cleaner in with a stiff brush and rinse, repeating until the foam runs white, then let the tyre dry before a dressing goes on.
