Gloves & PPE

The gloves here do two different jobs. Disposable black nitrile gloves from Gripp-It and Nitrile Ninja keep wheel cleaners, degreasers and coatings off your skin, while CarPro's washable microfibre gloves put a cloth on your fingers for cleaning and wiping in tight spaces.

How to choose

• Nitrile for any chemical work: it is latex-free and stands up to detailing chemicals better than latex or vinyl. Gripp-It comes in a pack of 4 or a dispenser box of 50.
• CarPro InnerScrub has a mildly abrasive fibre for scrubbing grime out of textured plastics, vinyl, leather and fabric. CarPro advises against using it on soft gloss plastics.
• CarPro Orange Microfibre Detailing Gloves are a soft pair for wiping wax and polish residue out of panel gaps and badges, and for applying products in tight spots.

Good to know

• A ceramic coating is very hard to get off skin once it starts to cure, so wear nitrile whenever you apply one from Paint Ceramic Coating.
• Change gloves after the wheels, before you touch paint, microfibres or the interior, so brake dust and wheel cleaner go no further.
