Full Description

Sonax XTREME Protective Wheel Rim Sealant uses Hybrid NetProtection Technology to leave an ultra-thin, invisible protective layer on your wheels. It repels water, dirt and salt and reduces how quickly the rims soil again.

Sonax describes the layer as glass-hard silicate linked with organic components into a stable, weather-resistant network. Stubborn dirt such as brake dust then comes off with little effort, the rims keep a deep, reflective shine and the beading lasts at least 5 washes. The 250ml pack treats up to 8 rims and includes 4 polishing fleeces.

How To Use

Prepare the wheels

  1. Clean the wheels thoroughly with a wheel cleaner and rinse them.
  2. Dry the wheels completely.
  3. Work on cool wheels out of direct sunlight.

Seal the wheels

  1. Apply a small amount of sealant to one of the polishing fleeces.
  2. Spread it in a thin, even layer over the wheel face.
  3. Follow the label for when to buff and how long to leave it before washing.
  4. Use a fresh fleece as each one becomes loaded.

Top Tip: Seal wheels straight after a deep clean, so the layer bonds to bare, dry metal.

Wash. XTREME Ceramic Active Shampoo uses SONAX's Si-Carbon technology, XTREME Shampoo 2-in-1 is a wash-and-dry concentrate, and XTREME RichFoam Shampoo and PROFILINE Actifoam Energy cover the foam stage. XTREME Waterless Wash and Shine cleans without a hose.

Paint correction. The PROFILINE polishes each carry a SONAX cut and gloss rating: CutMax, Ultimate Cut, Cut+Finish and Perfect Finish. The next tab explains which to use. PROFILINE Glass Polish takes light scratches and water marks out of glass.

Protection and gloss. XTREME Spray+Seal is a touchless paint and trim sealant, PROFILINE Hypercoat is a paint sealant, and PROFILINE Ceramic Coating PRO is the long-term coating. Between washes, XTREME Ceramic Ultra Slick Detailer and XTREME BrilliantShine Detailer top up the gloss, and wrapped or filmed cars have the PPF + Vinyl Cleaner and PPF + Vinyl Detailer.

Interior. PROFILINE Leather Cleaner and the wax-free Leather Protection cream look after leather, with XTREME Leather Care Foam as a one-step option. XTREME Cockpit Cleaner and the Sensitive Surface Detailer leave a matt, anti-static finish on plastics, PlasticCare protects interior and exterior plastics, and Upholstery + Alcantara Cleaner, Fabric Coating, Interior Detailer Concentrate, Stain Ex, All-Purpose Cleaner Foam and MultiStar APC cover the rest of the cabin. Choosing a SONAX PROFILINE polish

SONAX rates its PROFILINE polishes for cut and degree of gloss, and gives the finest sanding marks each one removes, so you can match the polish to the paint.

  • CutMax (cut 6, gloss 4) is a highly abrasive polish for rotary machines, for heavily weathered, scratched or sanded paint. It removes sanding marks of P1000 and finer, and its Low Dust Technology keeps dust down.
  • Ultimate Cut (cut 6+, gloss 3) removes marks of up to P1000 even faster at high polishing speeds, for fresh paintwork or very large surfaces such as motorhomes and boats. It is silicone-free.
  • Cut+Finish (cut 5, gloss 5) is a single-stage polish that removes P1500 sanding marks, nibs and spray mist with a high gloss and easy wipe-off. It is silicone-free and low dusting.
  • Perfect Finish is the finishing polish: it removes marks of up to P2000 grit and leaves a high gloss without holograms or buffing marks. It is silicone-free and can be used on an orbital machine when only a finish is needed.

On heavily marked paint, cut with CutMax or Ultimate Cut and then refine with Perfect Finish; if one stage is enough, use Cut+Finish. Use a separate pad for each polish, clean the pads regularly and keep off hot panels. For pads and machines, see our polishing pads and polishing machines.
