Full Description

Sonax PROFILINE CutMax is a highly effective abrasive compound for rotary polishers. It is made for heavily weathered, scratched or sanded paint and removes scratches and nibs on refinished or original paintwork.

It removes sanding marks of P1000 grit and finer, smooths marks and takes off spray paint mist. Low Dust Technology leaves virtually no polish residue, and it is silicone free. Work it with a hard foam or lambswool pad, then refine the paint with Sonax PROFILINE Perfect Finish. It comes in 250ml and 1L bottles.

CutMax is the heavy cutting step. Sonax makes it for heavily weathered, scratched or sanded paint and says it removes sanding marks of P1000 grit and finer, along with scratches, nibs and spray paint mist, on both refinished and original paintwork.

Sonax works it in short timed cycles: about 10 seconds at low speed and higher pressure, then about 20 seconds with the pad flat and light pressure, on an area of about 50 x 50 cm. Low Dust Technology keeps residue to a minimum, and a pass with Perfect Finish brings back the gloss.

How To Use

Cut

  1. Shake the bottle before use.
  2. Apply some compound to a hard foam pad or a lambswool pad.
  3. Polish at low speed with increased pressure for about 10 seconds, tilting the machine slightly for deep scratches.
  4. Then polish with the pad flat and light pressure for about 20 seconds.

Repeat and refine

  1. Add fresh compound and run a second cycle.
  2. Wipe off the residue with a soft microfibre cloth.
  3. Refine the paint with Sonax PROFILINE Perfect Finish.

Top Tip: Sonax times each cycle for a 50 x 50 cm area of average hard paint, so adjust for harder or softer clear coats.

Protection and gloss. XTREME Spray+Seal is a touchless paint and trim sealant, PROFILINE Hypercoat is a paint sealant, and PROFILINE Ceramic Coating PRO is the long-term coating. Between washes, XTREME Ceramic Ultra Slick Detailer and XTREME BrilliantShine Detailer top up the gloss, and wrapped or filmed cars have the PPF + Vinyl Cleaner and PPF + Vinyl Detailer.

Interior. PROFILINE Leather Cleaner and the wax-free Leather Protection cream look after leather, with XTREME Leather Care Foam as a one-step option. Choosing a SONAX PROFILINE polish

SONAX rates its PROFILINE polishes for cut and degree of gloss, and gives the finest sanding marks each one removes, so you can match the polish to the paint.

  • CutMax (cut 6, gloss 4) is a highly abrasive polish for rotary machines, for heavily weathered, scratched or sanded paint. It removes sanding marks of P1000 and finer, and its Low Dust Technology keeps dust down.
  • Ultimate Cut (cut 6+, gloss 3) removes marks of up to P1000 even faster at high polishing speeds, for fresh paintwork or very large surfaces such as motorhomes and boats. It is silicone-free.
  • Cut+Finish (cut 5, gloss 5) is a single-stage polish that removes P1500 sanding marks, nibs and spray mist with a high gloss and easy wipe-off. It is silicone-free and low dusting.
  • Perfect Finish is the finishing polish: it removes marks of up to P2000 grit and leaves a high gloss without holograms or buffing marks. It is silicone-free and can be used on an orbital machine when only a finish is needed.
