Full Description

Sonax PROFILINE Perfect Finish is a finishing polish developed for one-stage polishing of sanded paint defects in paint shops. Extremely fine yet hard abrasives remove scratches and leave an optimal gloss without holograms or buffing marks.

It removes sanding marks of P2000 grit or finer and is silicone free. Use it on a variable-speed rotary polisher with a medium or soft foam pad, or on an orbital machine when only a finish is needed, and after a heavier compound such as Sonax PROFILINE CutMax. It comes in 250ml and 1L bottles.

Perfect Finish is the last polishing step. After sanding to P2000 grit or finer, or after a heavier compound, its extremely fine but hard abrasives take out the remaining marks and Sonax says it leaves an optimal gloss without holograms or buffing marks.

Technique matters as much as the polish. Keep the pad flat, use medium to light pressure and work in several short steps with a little fresh polish rather than one long cycle. Sonax checks the result under a hologram lamp after wiping the panel, and it is silicone free, so it is safe to use in a paint shop.

How To Use

Prepare

  1. Wash and dry the paint and mask the trim.
  2. If needed, sand with P2000 grit or finer, or pre-polish with a heavier compound.
  3. Fit a medium or soft foam pad to a variable-speed rotary polisher.

Polish

  1. Apply a small amount of polish to the pad.
  2. Polish with the pad flat and medium to light pressure.
  3. Never polish completely dry: work in several short steps, adding small amounts of polish.
  4. Wipe off the residue with a soft microfibre cloth and light pressure.
  5. Check the result under a hologram lamp after a panel wipe.

Top Tip: Several short passes with a little fresh polish beat one long cycle, Sonax says, and never let the pad run dry.
