Full Description

Crankalicious Pineapple Express is a rapid acting bike spray wash for all areas of the frame, brakes and contact points. This is the 250ml concentrate, which you dilute 1:3 with water, or pour into a litre spray bottle and top up with water.

Crankalicious calls it versatile and fast acting, with a luscious tropical aroma, and the concentrate makes it extremely economical. Spray it all over the bike, leave it for 2 to 3 minutes, agitate with a brush, mitt or clean cloth, then rinse with a low pressure water spray. For the chain, use Crankalicious Gumchained Remedy.

How To Use

Mix

  1. Shake the bottle.
  2. Dilute it 1:3 with water, or pour the 250ml into a litre spray bottle and fill it with water.

Clean

  1. Spray it liberally over all areas of the bike.
  2. Leave it to dwell for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Agitate with a brush, mitt or clean cloth.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with a low pressure water spray.
  5. Dry the frame and components as needed.

Top Tip: Rinse with a gentle hose rather than a jet wash, high pressure can push water into bearings.

The Brand

Crankalicious

Crankalicious makes handmade bike care in the UK. It was created by Dom Colbeck, the founder of Dodo Juice, with cyclist Tony Hetherington, and launched in August 2016, bringing what Dom had learned from car care to cyclists. The products are made at its own premises in Elsenham, Essex, from bespoke formulas in small batches with a maximum pour of a few hundred litres, and the labels go on by hand.

Crankalicious bike wash and chain care

Bucket wash. Mud Honey is a pH-neutral foaming bucket wash for every part of the bike. Add two to three capfuls to a bucket of water, agitate it to build foam, work it over the bike with a mitt, sponge or brush, then rinse with a low pressure spray.

Spray wash. Pineapple Express is a rapid acting spray wash for the frame, brakes and contact points, with a tropical aroma. The 250ml concentrate is diluted with water at 1:3.

Chain. Gumchained Remedy is a strong solvent chain cleaner for dirt, grime, old oil and sludge. Re-lube the chain once it is clean and dry.

From the car to the bike. Crankalicious grew out of car care: Dom made his first car wax on the stove at home in 2006, Dodo Juice was on sale by 2007, and in 2015 he noticed how many of his friends were serious cyclists and set out to make the same kind of handmade products for bikes.

Matt frames. Carboniferous is a gloss-free detailer that removes dust, light dirt and fingerprints from matt finishes, including uncoated carbon fibre, without leaving residue.

Frame protection. EnduroBike Frame Sealant is a nano protectant that seals and shines every surface except brakes and rims, and repels water and mud so dirt sticks less on later rides.

Contact points. Epic Hide is an intensive cleanser for saddles, shoes, gloves and bar tape, on natural and synthetic materials.

Merino kit. Aqua Merino is a gentle wash for merino garments, by hand or machine, with a subtle mint fragrance to repel moths.

Brakes. Keep gloss and PTFE products off rotors and rims, as Crankalicious warns, so braking surfaces stay clean.
