FibreKing Microfibre Wash is a 1 litre fibre safe detergent for detailers who want their towels performing like new.

The fibre-safe formula breaks down stubborn residues from waxes, sealants, detailing sprays and road film without damaging or clogging the fibres, dosed at 25 to 50ml via the bottle's integrated measuring chamber.

How To Use

Machine washing

  1. Separate microfibre items from normal household laundry.
  2. Group similar colours together where possible.
  3. Add 25-50ml of FibreKing Microfibre Wash.
  4. Wash on a gentle cycle at 30°C-40°C.
  5. Use an additional rinse cycle where possible.
  6. Follow the washing machine manufacturer’s instructions.

Hand washing

  1. Add 25-50ml of FibreKing Microfibre Wash to a bucket of warm water.
  2. Fully soak the microfibre items.
  3. Agitate the material to help loosen embedded residue.
  4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.

Drying

  1. Hang microfibres to air dry where possible.
  2. Alternatively tumble dry using the lowest cool setting.
  3. Do not use fabric softener.
  4. Do not use chlorine bleach.
  5. Do not iron.

Top Tip: Keep detailing microfibres separate from clothing and other household laundry. Towels used for waxes, sealants and heavier residues can also be separated from cleaner glass and finishing cloths.

The Brand

FibreKing Microfibres

FibreKing (often searched as Fibre King or Fiber King) is a UK-based microfibre brand founded in 2021. Its two founders came from the car and motorsport scenes and were tired of microfibre that was hard to find, inconsistent and overpriced, so they built a range of premium microfibre cloths, drying towels, glass cloths and wash mitts for enthusiasts, detailers and motorsport professionals.

The range comes in two labels. Gold Label is FibreKing's flagship Korean microfibre range, made for scratch-safe, swirl-free work on paint. Silver Label sells at an everyday price and is the one to reach for on wheels, engine bays and interiors, along with a heavyweight drying towel.

Which FibreKing cloth for which job

Paintwork. The Gold Label 400 GSM cloths measure 40.6 x 40.6 cm, are made from a 70/30 polyester and polyamide blend, have no tags to drag across the paint and are machine washable. For the most delicate finishing, the Ultimate Detailer Cloths are 500 GSM edgeless coral fleece, and the Duplex edgeless cloths have two different textures, so one cloth can wipe off coating residue, clean an interior or tackle an engine bay.

Dirty jobs. The Silver Label 315 GSM 36 pack is made for wheels, engine bays and interiors, so your best cloths never touch brake dust.

Drying. The Silver Label 1100 GSM drying towel is a 50 x 80 cm double-layer towel made from heavyweight Korean microfibre with twisted loops. It absorbs up to seven times its own weight and has a hidden-edge seam. The Gold Label 900 GSM Korean drying towel mixes twisted-loop and short-pile fibres.

Glass. Carbon Glass Cloths are 60% polyester, 24% polyamide and 16% carbon, which helps stop static and streaks on windows, mirrors and screens. Waffle weave glass towels and the Gold Label Korean glass cloths, which have a 2mm sponge layer inside, are the other glass options.

Washing. The Gold Label Korean wash mitt and the plainer PS mitt are for paint, the Gold Label wheel mitt is made in South Korea from 100% split microfibre for wheels, and the scrub pads are for interior and exterior surfaces.

How to wash your FibreKing microfibres

Microfibre only works while its fibres are clean and open, so how you wash it matters as much as which cloth you buy. These are FibreKing's care steps:

  • Wash new cloths before you first use them, to remove loose fibres.
  • Wash them on their own or with similar colours. Some colour may run on the first wash.
  • Use a microfibre detergent such as FibreKing Microfibre Wash on a gentle 30 to 40°C cycle.
  • Never use fabric softener or chlorine bleach.
  • Hang them to dry, or tumble dry on the lowest cool setting.

Our own tip: give each colour one job. Keep one colour of Gold Label for paint and another for glass, and use the Silver Label cloths for wheels and engine bays, so grit from the dirty jobs never ends up on your paint.
