Full Description

Using two types of abrasive, this convenient handheld glass compounder easily removes the toughest stains, traffic film, etc. It can remove old Glaco Ultra, and is perfect surface preparation before glass coating. The built-in felt pad means there is no need for any other sponges or cloths. Simple!

How To Use

Preparing glass

  1. Wash and dry the glass first.
  2. Mask off rubber seals and trim.
  3. Work the built-in felt pad over the glass in small, overlapping sections.
  4. Remove the residue as the bottle directs.

Afterwards

  1. Check the glass in good light.
  2. Repeat on stubborn marks rather than pressing harder.
  3. Apply your glass coating once the glass is clean and dry.
  4. Cap it and store it upright out of direct sunlight.

Top Tip: Masking the rubber seals first keeps compound residue out of the edges, where it is hard to remove.

Soft99 is a Japanese car care maker based in Osaka. It began producing car wax in 1954, and its range now runs from body waxes and polishes such as Fusso Coat, The Kiwami, Fukupika and Water Block Wax to shampoos, cleaners, car wash tools and the Glaco glass water repellents it launched in 1991. Soft99 waxes, sealants and shampoos

Fusso Coat. Fusso Coat 12 Months, in Dark and Light, is made with fluorine resins and waxes and rated by Soft99 for up to 12 months of water repellent protection. Wash and dry the car, apply it thinly, and once it has dried, after 5 to 20 minutes depending on the temperature, wipe it off with a soft dry towel. Fusso Coat Speed & Barrier is the fluoropolymer spray for keeping it topped up, rated at up to 180 days.

Gloss waxes. The Kiwami blends carnauba with synthetic polymers for up to three months of deep gloss, in Black/Dark and Silver/Light. The King of Gloss is a mineral wax and synthetic resin blend for black and dark paint, and Water Block Wax is a strongly water repellent polymer sealant in Dark and Light.

Sprays. Fukupika Spray Strong Type cleans and waxes in one spray and wipe with no drying or re-wiping, using fluorine resin for up to six months of water repellency. Bazooka Rain Drop goes on the wet car after washing and protects paint, glass, plastic and chrome.

Shampoos. pH Neutral Creamy Shampoo is a compound-free, 1:50 shampoo that is safe on coated cars and works in foamers, Perfect Foam Type S is an 11ml single-wash concentrate diluted 1:100, and The Kiwami shampoo comes in Dark and Silver to match the waxes.

Soft99 Glaco glass care and detailing tools

Glaco. Soft99 launched its Glaco glass water repellents in 1991. The roll-on coatings leave the screen repelling rain so it is blown off by the airflow as you drive: Ultra Glaco Roll On in 70ml, Glaco Roll On in 120ml and the 300ml Glaco Roll On MAX, made to mark 30 years of Glaco. Glaco Mirror Coat Zero is a 40ml spray for side mirrors that leaves a layer of fine silica crystals. Prepare the glass first with the Glaco Glass Compound Roll On, which uses two abrasives to remove stains, traffic film and old Glaco.

Tools. The Super Water Absorber is a quilted drying cloth; wash it without fabric softener. The Surface Smoother Mini is a 100g clay bar for bonded contamination. The Exterior Brush has synthetic bristles for wheels, grilles and badges, the Interior Detailing Brush natural bristles for vents and dashboards, and the Digloss Kamitore wheel sponge cut-pile microfibre over a durable inner sponge.
