Full Description

CarPro CQUK 3.0 is a nano-ceramic paint coating with 70% SiO2 at 99.9% purity. The third version of CQ.UK, CarPro's most refined consumer-grade coating, it adds more resistance to salt build-up and is easy to apply from 3 to 40°C, with a real-world durability of 18 to 24 months.

It keeps the classic CQUARTZ UK wipe-on, wipe-off application: buff it straight away or leave it a few minutes and it still wipes off clean, without a grabby, sticky feel. Use it on paint, wheels, plastics, glass and metal. Sold as 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles, and as 30ml and 50ml kits.

CQUK 3.0 suits enthusiasts who want a real ceramic layer without lab-like conditions. CarPro made ease of use a key goal, and the 3 to 40°C working range helps in a cold UK garage, where coatings flash more slowly.

The result depends on the prep. Decontaminate, polish and wipe the panels with Eraser first, then keep the coating at its best with CarPro Reset in the wash and Reload as a topper.

CarPro calls it its most refined consumer-grade coating, with increased resistance to salt build-up and extreme temperature tolerance, while keeping the classic wipe-on, wipe-off application.

How To Use

Prepare

  1. Wash the car, then remove iron fallout with Iron X and clay where contamination remains.
  2. Polish the paint to a high standard.
  3. Wipe every panel with CarPro Eraser to remove polishing oils.

Apply

  1. Work between 3 and 40°C, out of direct sun and off hot panels.
  2. Wrap a suede applicator around the applicator block.
  3. Shake the bottle, then drag one or two lines of coating onto the suede.
  4. Spread across the paint in a criss-cross pattern, about 2 sq ft at a time.
  5. When it starts to flash and shows a rainbow, oil-slick look, level it with a clean microfibre towel, usually within 2 to 5 minutes.
  6. Check the panel from different angles, then move to the next.
  7. Change the suede every 2 panels or so.

Extra coats and topper

  1. CarPro recommends 2 coats, with a maximum of 3.
  2. Apply the next coat within 45 to 60 minutes, or wait until the following day.
  3. To top with CarPro Reload, apply it within 30 to 60 minutes of the final coat, or wait at least 12 hours.

Top Tip: Test one 2ft x 2ft section first to find the flash time. Wiped too soon it is oily, left too long it is hard to remove.

  1. Level in ambient light, not a spot light, so no high spots are missed.
  2. A high spot found within minutes lifts with a little more coating.
  3. Use fresh suede applicators and do not reuse the levelling towels on paint.
  4. Wear gloves and a mask, such as a painter's mask, while you coat.
  5. Work out of direct sun and off hot panels.
  6. Shake the bottle before loading the suede.
  7. Wash with CarPro Reset to maintain it.

The CarPro range: prepare, protect, maintain

CarPro organises its products around the order you work on a car, which makes it easy to build a kit that suits your car and the time you have.

Prepare. Clean and decontaminate first. Lift is a concentrated pre-wash snow foam, IronX dissolves iron fallout with an acid-free, pH-balanced formula and turns purple-red as it works, and TRIX removes iron and tar in one go. For paint correction, ClearCut takes out scratches as deep as P1000, Fixer cuts and finishes in a single step, and Reflect refines the finish before a coating. Eraser then removes polishing oils so the coating can bond.

Protect. CQ UK 3.0 is CarPro's consumer ceramic coating: 70% SiO2, applied from 3 to 40°C and rated for 18 to 24 months. There are dedicated coatings for film and plastic trim (CQUARTZ Skin), glass (GForce, built on CarPro's DQUARTZ nano-diamond technology) and leather (CQuartz Leather 2.0), plus quicker options such as HydrO2, a spray-on, rinse-off silica sealant rated for up to 6 months.

Maintain. Reset is the pH-neutral shampoo made for coated cars and dilutes 1:500. Hydro Foam washes and leaves a silica layer in one step, ECH2O is a waterless wash and quick detailer, and MFX restores the absorbency of your microfibre towels.

Where to start with CarPro

New to CarPro? Start with the products that make the biggest difference to a normal wash: Reset, Lift and a pair of Dilute bottles, which have printed ratios from 1:1 to 1:30 so every concentrate is mixed correctly. WheelX is the CarPro product our customers buy most often: a ready-to-use wheel cleaner that is safe on coated, chrome and powder-coated wheels.

Ready to protect your paint? Work in this order:

  • Wash with Lift and Reset, then remove iron fallout with IronX.
  • Polish if the paint needs it, from ClearCut for deeper marks to Reflect for a final finish.
  • Wipe each panel with Eraser and apply CQ UK 3.0 one panel at a time.
  • Keep the coating at its best with Reset and a top-up of HydrO2 or Hydro Foam every few months.
