Full Description

The CarPro CeriGlass kit pairs the 150ml CeriGlass glass polish with a CarPro foam applicator block and a microfibre towel, as pictured. CeriGlass removes severe water spots and light scratches from glass without distorting it, using ceramic abrasives, cerium oxide and nanotech ingredients.

It contains no strong solvents or acids and works by hand, with a DA or with a rotary. CarPro US adds that it removes acid rain spots, road film, stubborn bird stains and fine to medium wiper scratches. CarPro also lists plexiglass, metal and chrome.

The kit is the hand-polishing version of CeriGlass: the block gives an even, firm pressure on the glass and the towel takes the residue off, so you can treat water spots without a machine.

Severe water spots usually need a polish rather than a cleaner. After polishing, wipe with Eraser and coat the glass with GForce to keep it clear for longer.

CarPro US says it also takes out acid rain spots, road film and stubborn bird stains, and that on a rotary it can even remove swirls, light scratches and sometimes tiny pits.

How To Use

Prepare

  1. Clean the glass of all dirt, oil and dust.
  2. Cover the trim and paint around the glass.
  3. Shake well and apply a small amount to the applicator block.

Polish

  1. Work the glass one section at a time in overlapping motions.
  2. When it starts to dry, spritz the pad with water to extend the working time.
  3. Rinse or clean the glass thoroughly with the microfibre towel.

Top Tip: Mask off the rubber trim around the glass first: CarPro US warns CeriGlass can stain black trim.

The CarPro range: prepare, protect, maintain

CarPro organises its products around the order you work on a car, which makes it easy to build a kit that suits your car and the time you have.

Prepare. Clean and decontaminate first. Lift is a concentrated pre-wash snow foam, IronX dissolves iron fallout with an acid-free, pH-balanced formula and turns purple-red as it works, and TRIX removes iron and tar in one go. For paint correction, ClearCut takes out scratches as deep as P1000, Fixer cuts and finishes in a single step, and Reflect refines the finish before a coating. Eraser then removes polishing oils so the coating can bond.

Protect. CQ UK 3.0 is CarPro's consumer ceramic coating: 70% SiO2, applied from 3 to 40°C and rated for 18 to 24 months. There are dedicated coatings for film and plastic trim (CQUARTZ Skin), glass (GForce, built on CarPro's DQUARTZ nano-diamond technology) and leather (CQuartz Leather 2.0), plus quicker options such as HydrO2, a spray-on, rinse-off silica sealant rated for up to 6 months.

Maintain. Reset is the pH-neutral shampoo made for coated cars and dilutes 1:500. Hydro Foam washes and leaves a silica layer in one step, ECH2O is a waterless wash and quick detailer, and MFX restores the absorbency of your microfibre towels.

Where to start with CarPro

New to CarPro? Start with the products that make the biggest difference to a normal wash: Reset, Lift and a pair of Dilute bottles, which have printed ratios from 1:1 to 1:30 so every concentrate is mixed correctly. WheelX is the CarPro product our customers buy most often: a ready-to-use wheel cleaner that is safe on coated, chrome and powder-coated wheels.

Ready to protect your paint? Work in this order:

  • Wash with Lift and Reset, then remove iron fallout with IronX.
  • Polish if the paint needs it, from ClearCut for deeper marks to Reflect for a final finish.
  • Wipe each panel with Eraser and apply CQ UK 3.0 one panel at a time.
  • Keep the coating at its best with Reset and a top-up of HydrO2 or Hydro Foam every few months.

For tyres and trim, DarkSide and Perl are the favourites: Perl dilutes up to 5:1, from a rich finish on tyres to a satin look on plastics, and ReTyre cleans tyres and rubber before you dress them.
