Dashboard & Hard Surface Cleaners

Dashboard and hard surface cleaners are made for the plastics you touch and look at most: the dash, centre console, door cards and door pulls, where dust, fingerprints and hand grease build up. How to choose

• Finish: a matt finish leaves no shine to reflect in the windscreen, and an anti-static formula is meant to slow down how quickly dust settles again.
• Clean or restore: these are for regular cleaning. Faded, grey plastics need a product from Interior Dressings after cleaning.
• Heavy grime: sticky cupholders or greasy door pulls on a neglected car may need an all-purpose cleaner from Interior APCs first.

Good to know

• Spray onto a microfibre rather than the dash, so it stays off the windscreen and out of switches. A soft brush from Interior Detailing Brushes gets into vents and seams.
• Touchscreens and gloss black trim scratch easily: use a clean, soft cloth from Glass & Interior Cloths and light pressure.

How do you make a car dashboard look new again?

Clean it first with a dashboard cleaner on a microfibre, then bring faded, grey plastic back with an interior dressing. Pick a matt one, so the dash does not reflect in the windscreen.
