Full Description

Wash with the professional way with an Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad. It delivers 20% more sudsy water than ordinary car wash mitts and no swirls. The Adams Professional Car Wash Pad feels like a wool wash mitt on the outside, but that's where all similarities end. If you want the most sudsy, satisfying car wash experience you've ever had, try the Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad. Available in 2 sizes, they hold 20% more than ordinary car wash mitts. That means you can get the soapy water to your car where it will do some good. Most wash mitts let all the water go (normally all over your feet!) before it ever gets to the car. The Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad is a suds making machine! Safe and durable, the Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad is made of a soft, synthetic wool that gently lifts dirt away from your paint and freely let's go of the dirt in your wash bucket. The Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad won't swirl or scratch your paint. Sizes Available: 10" x 10" (250mm x 250mm) Care Instructions:
  • To care for your Adam's Professional Wash Pad simply lay pad on top of your grit guard bucket insert and use hose to rinse out on both sides thoroughly.
  • Comb through the fibres with your fingers and inspect for remaining debris, if any is found repeat.
  • Wring out Adam's Professional Wash Pad out well and allow to dry in a clean area with good air flow.
  • After a few uses you may notice them begin to get a little 'dreadlocked' which can be fixed easily with a regular hair brush or wide tooth comb.
NOTE: We do not recommend machine washing.

Expert Notes

The Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad is a 10in x 10in (250mm x 250mm) contact wash pad made from plush synthetic wool with a 3in thick foam core. Adam's Polishes states it holds 26 ounces of shampoo wash water, and a squeeze of the foam core releases suds as they are needed. It sits at the contact wash stage, after a pre-rinse or pre-wash and before drying, and suits anyone who prefers a large pad to a mitt. Pair it with a dedicated car shampoo, two buckets fitted with grit guards and a soft microfibre drying towel. Care is simple: rinse it over a grit guard, comb the fibres through, let it air dry and never machine wash it.

How To Use

Using it

  1. Rinse the vehicle first to remove loose dirt and grit.
  2. Fill one bucket with car shampoo mixed to the shampoo maker's dilution and a second with clean rinse water, ideally both with grit guards.
  3. Soak the pad in the shampoo solution until the synthetic wool is fully loaded.
  4. Wash one panel at a time from the roof downwards, using light pressure and straight passes.
  5. Give the pad a gentle squeeze to release more suds onto the panel as you work.
  6. Rinse the pad in the rinse bucket after each panel before reloading it with shampoo solution.
  7. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly and dry it with a clean microfibre drying towel.

Cleaning and storage

  1. Lay the pad on a grit guard insert and rinse both sides thoroughly with a hose.
  2. Comb through the fibres with your fingers, check for debris and repeat the rinse if any is found.
  3. Wring the pad out well and leave it to dry in a clean area with good airflow.
  4. If the fibres start to clump after a few uses, work them loose with a hair brush or wide tooth comb.
  5. Do not put the pad in a washing machine, as machine washing is not recommended.
  6. Store it clean and dry, away from wheel brushes and other dirty tools.

Top Tip: Check the fibres for trapped grit before each wash, since a pad can pick up debris in storage.

Performance Benefits

  • Carries shampoo solution to the panel
  • Puts suds where the panel needs them
  • Lifts dirt away from paintwork
  • Lets go of dirt in the wash bucket
  • Designed for contact hand washing

Frequently Asked Questions

What size is this wash pad?

The Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad measures 10in x 10in (250mm x 250mm). It comes in one size.

What is the pad made of?

The Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad is made from plush, professional-grade synthetic wool with a 3in thick foam core. The soft fibres are designed to lift dirt away from paint and let go of it in the wash bucket.

How much wash solution does it hold?

Adam's Polishes states that the 10in x 10in pad holds 26 ounces of shampoo wash water. Squeezing the foam core releases the suds as they are needed on the panel.

How do I clean the pad after washing the car?

Lay it on a grit guard insert and hose both sides thoroughly, then comb through the fibres with your fingers and repeat if any debris remains. Wring it out well and let it dry in a clean area with good airflow.

Can it go in the washing machine?

No, machine washing is not recommended for the Adam's Professional Car Wash Pad. Rinse it by hand with a hose over a grit guard instead.

What should I do if the fibres start to clump?

Brush them out with a regular hair brush or a wide tooth comb. The fibres can begin to clump after a few uses, and brushing is the recommended fix.

Can I use it on wheels and tyres?

No, keep it for bodywork only. Use separate brushes or mitts for wheels and tyres so brake dust and grit never reach the pad you use on paint.

What should I use with it?

Use it with a dedicated car shampoo, a wash bucket and a rinse bucket, each fitted with a grit guard, and finish with a microfibre drying towel. The grit guard also serves as the rinsing surface when you clean the pad afterwards.

HQ Suggests Tips & Insights

  1. Pre-rinse or pre-wash the car before the pad touches the paint.
  2. Change the rinse bucket water once it turns cloudy or gritty.
  3. Work from the roof down, leaving the dirtiest lower panels until last.
  4. Wash in the shade on cool panels so the shampoo does not dry.
  5. Keep a separate mitt or pad for the grittier lower sills.
  6. Dry the car promptly after the final rinse to avoid water spots.
  7. A sealed bag keeps dust out of the fibres between washes.
  8. Available online with UK-wide delivery from The Drivers HQ.

The Brand

Adam's Polishes

Adam's Polishes is an American car care company that offers detailing products for washing, drying, polishing and protecting vehicles, from wheel cleaners and microfibre towels to waxes, sealants and ceramic coatings. According to the brand, Adam Pitale started Adam's Polishes in California in 2000, and the company has since moved to Colorado and continues to sell its car care products around the world. Adam's says its products are designed to reduce time and steps in the detailing process, and that its chemicals are blended in the USA with raw materials sourced from around the world.

At The Drivers HQ we stock the Adams Professional Car Wash Pad, part of our Wash Mitts & Pads range. Adam's describes it as a 10 inch by 10 inch pad made from plush synthetic wool over a 3 inch thick foam core, and says it holds 26 ounces of soapy wash water. The brand's point is that many wash mitts lose their water before it reaches the car, while this pad carries the shampoo solution to the paintwork, and a gentle squeeze of the foam core releases suds as you need them. The pad is reusable, so it can stay in your wash kit wash after wash.

A large, soft wash pad suits anyone who prefers to wash their car by hand, from weekend enthusiasts to owners with plenty of panels to cover. In a typical routine it is used for the contact wash: once the wheels are done and loose dirt has been rinsed or pre-washed away, load the pad from a bucket of shampoo solution and work over the paintwork from the roof downwards. Rinsing the pad often in a separate rinse bucket helps keep grit away from the paint, and a soft drying towel finishes the job.

How Adam Pitale Started Adam's Polishes

Adam's Polishes takes its name from its founder. The brand says Adam Pitale started the company in California in 2000, and that it has since relocated to Colorado while continuing to sell its car care products all over the world. On its homepage the company sums up its time in business as more than 20 years of creating products for car maintenance and polishing.

The brand's own story is built around Adam's attention to cleanliness. It describes him as the kind of person who takes a machine polisher on a trip so that he does not have to drive a dirty rental car, and tells how he once took a forklift out of the warehouse for two hours, stopping all production, just to wash it outside with a pressure washer. In the company's words, perfection drives it, from product innovation to dumpster cleaning.

Adam's says all of its products undergo rigorous testing through in house verification and third parties, and that its chemicals are blended in the USA with raw materials from around the world. The company says it is always pushing the limits of car care, and its collaborations include limited edition products and its role as the Official Detailer of Barrett-Jackson.

Wash Pads, Mitts and the Wider Range

Alongside its chemicals, Adam's sells a wide range of car washing accessories. Its washing collection includes the 10 inch Car Wash Pad, a Microfiber Wash Mitt, a Lambskin Wash Mitt, microfibre wash sponges, drying towels such as the Great White Microfiber Drying Towel, foam cannons, detailing buckets and Grit Guard inserts. Beyond washing, the brand's own site lists wheel cleaners, microfibre towels, cordless polishers, waxes, sealants, graphene and ceramic coatings, and interior cleaning products.

Of the Car Wash Pad, Adam's says it delivers plenty of sudsy water, not swirls. The brand explains that the pad's synthetic wool fibres soak up water, so the soapy solution is carried to the car rather than dripping away, and that to earn a place in its range a wash tool also has to be safe and durable, because a pad, mitt or sponge that puts swirls and scratches in the paint does no good.

The Drivers HQ currently stocks the Adams Professional Car Wash Pad from the Adam's range. It is listed in our Wash Mitts & Pads collection, and it pairs naturally with a two bucket wash, a car shampoo and a soft drying towel as part of a complete hand wash routine.
