Sam is a tattoo artist and Courtney is a hairdresser, and the brand says all of its artwork is created by Sam with Courtney's input. Its own online shop sold T-shirts, long sleeves, hoodies and sweats, bottoms, headwear, bags and accessories, with a dedicated automotive accessories section alongside the clothing.

Born From a Lockdown Side Project

Crossed Dagger Apparel started as a little side project for owners Sam Keeley and Courtney Haymes during the first week of the COVID-19 lockdown, set up to keep themselves busy and motivated. By their own account, they never planned for it to take off the way it did in such a short space of time, and they describe it as something they are both proud of achieving.

Both owners work in creative careers, Sam as a tattoo artist and Courtney as a hairdresser, and they say they love art and using those skills to reach a goal. The brand says all of its artwork is created by Sam with Courtney's thoughts and input, and it states that all artwork is designed and copyrighted by Sam Keeley Tattoo.

The name comes from Sam's own life. His mother's side of the family are named Cross, and he always signs his artwork with a dagger, which he also has tattooed on himself. Put together, the two became Crossed Dagger Apparel, and the brand says it carries the family name as a way of remembering his mum.
