Dodo Juice

Dodo Juice (also written DoDo Juice or Dodojuice) is a British car care brand from Dunmow in Essex, making detailing products since 2007. Dodo Juice Ltd also owns the Supernatural range and co-organises the Waxstock car care show. The brand started with a simple aim, proper detailing products with real, effective ingredients at a fair price, and it still makes in small batches, tests everything itself and keeps the humour on every label.

Dodo Juice products by job

Wash. Born to be Mild is a pH-neutral maintenance shampoo with limescale inhibitors to help prevent water spots. It is safe on wax and sealant layers, wraps and matt paint, and dilutes at 1:800 with cold water, 1:600 in hard water areas or up to 1:1000 in warm, soft water: two or three capfuls in a large bucket. Sour Power is the gloss-enhancing shampoo with added carnauba.

Pre-wash and snow foam. Apple iFoam is a pH-neutral snow foam, safe over wax, sealants, coatings and matt or gloss finishes: 100ml in the foam lance bottle, topped up with water. iFoam Max is a strong alkaline snow foam with traffic film remover, 50 to 100ml in a 1 litre lance bottle, and Crudzilla is a citrus pre-wash spray for lower panels, rear ends and bug splatter. Flies Undone dissolves bug remains and bird mess, with the lubrication of a detailing spray to reduce the risk of swirls.

Wheels and decontamination. Deep Purple is a full-strength, pH-neutral wheel cleaner that turns purple as it dissolves brake dust, and Ferrous Dueller is a pH-neutral iron fallout remover. Take extra care with both on anodised or bare metal wheels and test a hidden area first. Wheel Sealer protects the clean wheels, Pneu Look cleans the brown off tyres and trim, and Dark Matter goes on neon pink and dries to a dark finish on tyres and exterior trim. Release the Grease is a strong citrus degreaser for engine bays.

Glass. Clearly Menthol is a solvent-based, minty glass cleaner for inside and outside glass, tints included; keep it off touchscreens and digital displays unless you know they are solvent-resistant. Spirited Away is a concentrated screen wash, used neat in winter or diluted 1:6 in summer. Some car makers do not allow third-party screen wash, so check your handbook first.

Interior. Cabin Krug sprays, wipes and freshens hard and soft surfaces, Fibre Reviver is a solvent-free cleaner for upholstery, carpets and soft tops, and Fabricadabra leaves seats, soft tops and arch liners with a water-repellent, dirt-resistant barrier. The 100ml air freshener sprays come in eight scents: Cherry Bomb, Sweet Shot, CoCo Loco, Apple Tease, Bold Spice, Malibu Mist, Merry Berry and Wacky Acai. The Prismatic Detailing Bag keeps the kit together between washes.

Apple iFoam, iFoam Max or Crudzilla?

All three loosen dirt before the contact wash, so less grit is dragged across the paint by the mitt. The difference is what they do to the protection already on the car.

  • Apple iFoam is pH-neutral. Dodo Juice designed it to leave wax, sealants and coatings unaffected and to work on delicate, matt and gloss finishes, so it is the snow foam for a protected car washed every week or two.
  • iFoam Max is a strong alkaline snow foam with traffic film removing ingredients. A light coat may not trouble a mature, well-applied coating, but it can weaken or remove older or weaker wax and sealants, so plan to top up protection afterwards. It is not for sealed, waxed or delicate finishes.
  • Crudzilla is a citrus pre-wash spray, not pH-neutral, made to strip contamination, wax and sealants before you polish, seal or re-wax. Use it on the dirtiest areas and keep it off sensitive finishes.

For regular maintenance washes, pair Apple iFoam with Born to be Mild. Before a polish or a fresh layer of protection, start with iFoam Max or Crudzilla so the paint is properly clean. Both foams work best with a snow foam lance on a pressure washer; see our snow foam lances.
