The Brand

The Detail Kitchen

The Detail Kitchen is a UK car care brand that builds its whole range around a kitchen theme, with a menu of products, a Tapas Bar and taster days. In its own words, its products are hand made and hand poured in the UK and bring mouth watering scents to the detailing community. The company is based in Telford and describes itself as a small Kitchen, with its recipes currently made and mixed from scratch by hand. Its range covers washing, decontamination, finishing, interior care and protection, alongside accessories and merchandise.

The Drivers HQ stocks The Detail Kitchen across the wash, decontamination, finishing and interior stages. For washing there are car shampoos such as Cola Car Shampoo and Gourmet Si02 Infused Shampoo, with Citrus Blend Foaming Pre-Wash and Blueberry Deep Dish Wheel Cleaner to loosen grime first. Decontamination is covered by Devilled Eggs Fallout Remover, Pest Control Bug and Bird Muck Remover and the Fine Grade Clay Bar 100g. To finish, there are the Concours Cocktail and Mellow Melon quick detailers, Gingerbead Paintwork Sealant, Gourmet Si02 Infused Wax, Glassware Glass Cleaner and Red Liquorice Tyre Dressing, and for the interior there is Dresscode Leather and Upholstery Cleaner.

The Detail Kitchen suits anyone who enjoys the ritual of a proper wash and likes their products to smell as good as they work. A typical routine starts with a pre-wash and a wheel cleaner, followed by a two bucket wash with a shampoo. Where the paint feels rough, a fallout remover and a clay bar, used with a lubricant such as Mellow Melon, prepare it for polishing and protection. A sealant, spray sealant or wax then protects the finish, before the glass, tyres and interior are cleaned and dressed.

Buy The Detail Kitchen from The Drivers HQ with UK-wide delivery, or call in at our walk-in store in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. Whether you are topping up a favourite shampoo, adding a quick detailer before a show or putting together a complete wash and protection kit, you can combine The Detail Kitchen products with the rest of your detailing and car care essentials in a single order.

THE DETAIL KITCHEN DEVILLED EGGS FALLOUT REMOVER - The Drivers HQ

Hand Made, Hand Poured Car Care

The Detail Kitchen describes itself as a small Kitchen. According to the brand, all of its recipes are currently made and mixed each time from scratch by hand, which is why the colour of a product can occasionally vary a little in shade or brightness. The brand is clear that this does not affect the quality or finish of the product.

The kitchen theme runs through everything the brand does. It invites customers to head to its Tapas Bar for some appetisers, order several courses from its menu or book a taster day, and its taster days offer an introduction to safe car care with The Detail Kitchen. Its product pages follow the same idea, with How to Prepare instructions, a Serving Suggestion and a Message from the Chef.

Some products carry their own stories. The brand says Pest Control is the product that exploded The Detail Kitchen into life online, with global enquiries within hours, and that for many customers Concours Cocktail was the product that took them to The Detail Kitchen in the first place.

THE DETAIL KITCHEN CONCOURS COCKTAIL - SHOW QUICK DETAILER - The Drivers HQ

A Menu of Scented Detailing Products

Scent sits at the heart of the range. The brand describes Cola Car Shampoo as having a mouth watering cola bottle scent and a totally neutral, ultra slick formulation that looks after paintwork and protections, and says it is safe for ceramic coated vehicles and wrapped, matte and satin finishes. Blueberry Deep Dish is a non-acidic, blueberry scented wheel cleaner that foams under agitation, and Citrus Blend combines a citrus pre-wash with a built in foaming agent and can be applied through a snow foam lance, pressure sprayer or trigger spray.

For finishing, Concours Cocktail is an all in one product for show goers, packed with show wax extracts for a wet look gloss and fillers to help mask light swirls, with a mixed fruit cocktail scent. Mellow Melon works as a quick detailer for bodywork and wheels, as an interior dressing and as a clay lubricant. Gingerbead Paintwork Sealant, the brand's first dedicated protection product, repels water and suits matte, satin and vinyl surfaces, while the Gourmet Si02 shampoo and spray sealant are designed to work hand in hand.

For decontamination and the details, Pest Control tackles bugs, bird muck, tree sap and pollen, and the Fine Grade Clay Bar lifts surface contaminants from paintwork, glass and wheels ahead of polishing and protection; the brand recommends following any clay bar with a polish. Red Liquorice is a mixed berry and liquorice scented tyre dressing that builds shine with extra coats, Glassware is a glass cleaner that flashes off quickly for a streakless finish, and Dresscode cleans fabric and leather with a high foam formulation.
