GYEON Wax

Gyeon Q2 Wax is the first wax from Gyeon and combines the most traditional type of product with sophisticated technology. GYEON Wax contains fluorine in its formula to create impressive levels of performance, beading and gloss. It's a perfect stand alone protection product for the enthusiast but will also surprise detailing professionals as an entry level protection product, as well as a great top up for one of the Gyeon Coatings.

How To Use

Applying

  1. Wash, dry and decontaminate the paint first.
  2. Work on a cool panel in the shade.
  3. Apply a thin, even layer with a foam applicator.
  4. Work one or two panels at a time.
  5. Leave it to haze for the time on the tin.

Buffing

  1. Buff off with a clean, plush microfibre.
  2. Turn the towel to a fresh side often.
  3. Let it cure before the car gets wet, as the tin directs.
  4. Store it sealed, away from heat.

Top Tip: A thin, even coat buffs off far more easily than a thick one and uses less wax.

Gyeon

Gyeon is a car care brand from South Korea that develops, formulates and manufactures almost every product in its own laboratory and facility there. It made its debut in 2012 with ceramic coatings, and its range now runs in two lines: Q² for coatings and Q²M for preparation, maintenance and accessories. Gyeon counts several firsts of its own, including WetCoat as a spray-on, rinse-off sealant, Bathe+ as the first SiO₂ shampoo with instant hydrophobicity, and SilkDryer as the first drying towel made with twisted fibres. It says it now works in more than 100 countries on six continents, with over 1,600 Certified Detailers.

Gyeon coatings, sealants and prep

Q² coatings. CanCoat EVO is a 200ml spray coating for paint, trim, metal, wheels and side or rear glass: spray it onto the cloth, wipe it on and wipe off to a full gloss, using 10 to 15ml per car. Q² Rim is a 30ml wheel coating for painted, powder coated, anodised and polished wheels, boxed with an applicator and four suede cloths. Q² View is a 20ml glass coating that keeps the windscreen repelling water and dirt, and Q² Tire is an SiO₂ based tyre coating that soaks into the rubber rather than sitting on top. Q² Wax is Gyeon's first wax, made with fluorine for gloss and beading, and the Leather Set Mild pairs LeatherCleaner Mild 200ml with Q² LeatherCoat 120ml, a brush, an applicator and a microfibre.

Sealants and detailers. WetCoat goes on the wet car after washing: one or two sprays per panel, rinsed off straight away with strong water pressure and never left to dry, on paint, trim, metal, wheels and glass. Ceramic Detailer is an SiO₂ detailer for coated cars that works on dry or wet paint as a drying aid. Cure Matte is a silica sealant for matte paint that deepens colour without adding gloss, and Quick Detailer is a spray and wipe gloss enhancer that is safe on coatings and waxes.

Prep and applicators. Q²M Prep strips oily residue before a coating, and Clay Lube is a neutral, slick lubricant safe with any clay. Apply coatings with the Coating Applicators, with a suede side and a short microfibre side, the 120 x 95mm MF Applicators or the laser cut Wax Applicators, and level them with the Suede cloths, ten 10 x 10cm cloths to a pack.

Gyeon wash, decontamination, tyres and kit

Wash. Q²M Foam (also 4L) is a thick pre-wash foam that Gyeon rates safe on coated and uncoated paint, polished wheels and trim, and Bug & Grime is a ready to use, coating safe bug remover. Bathe is a slick, pH neutral shampoo that leaves coatings, sealants and polished or plated parts untouched, Bathe+ leaves an SiO₂ water repellent layer as it washes, and Restart Wash cleans and decontaminates a coated car to restore the coating's original properties.

Decontamination. Iron is a fast, pH neutral iron remover for brake and rail dust, and Iron WheelCleaner is a clinging gel for every wheel type. Tar is pH neutral and bodywork safe, even on polished lips. WaterSpot removes mineral spots from paint, often without polishing; it is acidic, so keep it off fresh coatings and wipe down with Prep afterwards. APC is an all purpose cleaner diluted from 1:5 for exterior jobs such as arches and engine bays.

Tyres. Tire Cleaner lifts old dressing and grime, even from white walls, worked in with the stiff Tire Brush. Tire Express is a water based, matte everyday dressing for wet or dry tyres, spread with the curved Tire Applicators in small and large.

Interior, drying and kit. Q²M Glass cleans all car glass without harming rain repellents, Interior Detailer is a 60% alcohol cleaner for everyday surfaces, and the horsehair Leather Brush has a rounded wooden handle. Dry with the twisted fibre SilkDryer, 70 x 90cm, and carry it all in the Large (50 x 30 x 22cm) or Medium (26 x 21 x 21cm) Kit Bag. For the garage there are the Wash, Wheels and Rinse Bucket Sticker Set, the 131 x 200mm G Sticker in six colours, the white #gyeonized sticker, the Lanyard and the Mohs+ Key Ring.
