Full Description

Shiny Garage Base Shampoo is an everyday car shampoo that loosens dirt and grime from the paintwork. It makes a dense, long-lasting foam that helps the sponge or wash mitt glide over the surface, which lowers the risk of scratching the clear coat.

It has a balanced pH of 7.4, so it is gentle on paint and suits cars, motorcycles and other vehicles, and it has a cherry scent. For a different finish, Shiny Garage also makes Sleek Shampoo.

How to use

  1. Make sure the surface is cool and out of direct sunlight.
  2. Dilute 50 to 60ml of Base Shampoo in 10 litres of warm water.
  3. Build a lather with a lance or hose.
  4. Wash with a sponge or mitt in straight lines, starting at the top and leaving the wheel arches, sills and wheels until last.
  5. Rinse thoroughly with a pressure washer.
  6. Dry the car gently.

How To Use

Washing

  1. Rinse the car to remove loose dirt.
  2. Add shampoo to a bucket of water at the dilution on the bottle.
  3. Wash from the roof down with a clean wash mitt, one panel at a time.
  4. Rinse the mitt in a second bucket of clean water between panels.
  5. Rinse the car thoroughly before it dries.

Drying

  1. Dry with a clean, plush drying towel.
  2. Pat or glide the towel gently, never scrub.
  3. Dry the glass last with a separate towel.
  4. Wash the mitt and towels after use.

Top Tip: A second bucket of clean water for rinsing the mitt keeps grit off the paint and cuts wash marring.

Shiny Garage wash, decontamination and protection

Pre-wash and snow foam. Pre-Wash Citrus Oil is an alkaline concentrate for traffic film, insects and grease, strong enough to remove old wax and sealant: Shiny Garage gives 100ml per litre of warm water in a foam lance, or 25 to 50ml per litre in a sprayer, left 4 to 5 minutes in the shade and never allowed to dry. Fruit Snow Foam is a pH-neutral pre-wash foam; also Blue Snow, Pink Snow Foam, Ceramic Foam and Sour Shampoo & Foam.

Shampoo. Base Shampoo, Sleek Premium and Sleek in Tutti Frutti and Watermelon, with the Microfibre Wash Pad.

Wheels, tyres and decontamination. Monster Wheel Cleaner, Wheel & Tire Cleaner, Pure Black Tire Cleaner, Bug Off, Red Devil Engine Degreaser, APC Concentrate and All Arounder. For bonded dirt, the Clay Block or Clay Mitt with Smooth Clay Lube, and Spot Off for hard-water marks.

Interior. Insider is an alkaline interior cleaner for plastic, vinyl, rubber and fabric: apply with a microfibre or brush, wipe off the excess and do not let it dry, with no rinsing needed. Then Interior Quick Detailer, Interior Plastic Protectant Matt, Satin Interior Plastic Dressing, Apple Interior Dressing and the No Scent Odor Neutralizer.

Leather. Leather Cleaner, the Leather Brush and the Leather Kit Soft Cleaning.

Glass. Perfect Glass Cleaner, Glass Polish Pro, the Smear Free Glass Cloth and Wafer Glass Microfibre.
