Expert Notes

The Max F1 is one of the Sole Flavours Legends designs. It celebrates Max Verstappen, one of the most talented and dominant drivers of the modern era, and captures one of the best known moments of his career at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It is the first of a run of motorsport legends designs from Sole Flavours. The card shows Max Verstappen in his race suit and helmet, standing on his car with his fist clenched, with LEGENDS across the card. It carries a Raspberry scent. Hang it on its string from the mirror or a hook so it hangs freely, never resting on the dashboard, trim or paint, because the fragrance oils can mark surfaces for good. Open it when you want the scent to start and swap it when it fades. It makes a small gift for motorsport fans.

Perfect For / Suitable Surfaces

  • Rear view mirror
  • Coat hooks and grab handles
  • Car interiors
  • Vans and campervans
  • Garages and workshops
  • Gifts for motorsport fans

Caution: It must hang freely: keep it off the dashboard, trim, paint and every other surface, as the fragrance oils can cause permanent damage.

The Brand

Sole Flavours

Sole Flavours is a UK air freshener brand that calls itself The Original Scent Dealers. Sole Flavours Ltd is registered in England and Wales, and its hanging air fresheners pair a piece of artwork with a named scent. It says they are crafted in the UK from high-quality materials, to give a consistent and long-lasting fragrance. Its own store groups the designs into Originals, such as Skull Story, Road Map and Lucky Cat, and Legends, tribute designs to names such as Biggie, Tupac, Michael Jordan and Muhammad Ali, alongside Essentials and Multipacks, and many designs have come from collaborations with car culture brands and artists.

At The Drivers HQ we stock Sole Flavours online with UK delivery and in our Ilkeston shop. Popular choices include Biggie, Skull Story and Houndstooth.

Sole Flavours Originals and Legends

Originals. Skull Story gives a playful twist to a childhood classic, with familiar toy characters in skull masks, and a sweet strawberry scent. Road Map is a throwback to the toy road map play carpets, with a green and grey town map and a Cotton Fresh scent. Houndstooth takes its brown and cream pattern from the seat fabric of classic sports cars, with Bergamot. Lucky Cat gives the raised paw good luck cat a tattoo style skull, with Strawberry Milkshake. Log Stack pairs wood textures and autumn tones with a warm Sandalwood, and Jurassic Sole, inspired by the dinosaur adventure films, carries Coconut Cream.

Legends. Biggie celebrates the legacy of one of hip hop's most influential artists, in a fruity Cranberry, and the Tupac Gangster Party design, first made with Broke Boys in 2019, is Rhubarb and Custard. Michael Jordan shows the basketball great rising for a dunk, with Black Cherry, and Muhammad Ali stands over his opponent in the ring; Sole Flavours lists no named scent for that one.

Sole Flavours collaborations and how to hang them

Collaborations. The Sole Flavours x Auto Finesse collaboration carries the Africa scent. Sole Flavours x Ghettowxrkz, a 2019 collaboration, is Forest Fresh, with a slightly different design on each side. Sole Flavours x Like Hell shows a zombie hand gripping a high top trainer on one side and a wall of both names on the other, with the Shark Bite scent. Ron is printed as a mirror image on both sides, with Rich Mahogany.

How to hang them. Hang the card on its string from the rear-view mirror or a hook, where it cannot block your view of the road. Let it hang freely and keep it off the dashboard, trim and paint, because the fragrance oils can leave permanent marks. For a fresher cabin, hang a new one after a thorough vacuum and interior clean rather than using it to cover an odour, and swap designs whenever you fancy a change.

A Sole Flavours card makes a simple gift for collectors and car enthusiasts. Shop more air fresheners and odour control.
