Hanging Air Fresheners

A hanging freshener is the simplest way to scent a car: a scented card, shape or wooden pendant on a cord, hung from the mirror or a coat hook. Ours run from car culture cards by Strictly Static to Jelly Belly 3D fresheners, Coca-Cola, Fanta and Sprite designs and Fresso wooden pendants.

How to choose

• Scent first: most titles name the scent, from Jelly Belly flavours to black ice and new car.
• Design: SD Fresh Scents do JDM icons such as the Supra, RX7 and S15, plus the MK1 Golf; Brisa does VW Beetles, GTIs and T1 to T3 buses; The Hyped Source does trainers.
• Card, 3D or wood: flat cards hang discreetly, 3D shapes stand out more, and each Fresso wooden pendant has a matching spray in Car Perfumes.
• If the card comes in a wrapper, open it a bit at a time: it lasts longer and does not start too strong.

Good to know

• Hang it where it cannot rest on the dashboard, trim or glass: the scent oil can mark plastics and leather.
• Keep the cord short so it does not swing across your view of the road.

Do car air fresheners run out?

Yes. The scent fades as the fragrance in the card or wood evaporates. Opening a wrapped card a little at a time makes it last longer and stops it starting too strong.
