Pressure Sprayers

A pressure sprayer is pumped up by hand, then sprays pre-wash, wheel cleaner and other diluted chemicals evenly for as long as the pressure holds. The range covers the 2 litre DTLR Spray Cannon with Viton seals and the IK Multi Pro 2 professional hand sprayer.

How to choose

  • Size: 1 or 2 litres suits wheels, arches and smaller jobs, while a 9 to 12 litre sprayer holds enough to pre-wash a whole car without refilling.
  • Chemical: the seals decide what a sprayer can take. The DTLR Spray Cannon uses Viton seals, but check any sprayer's rating before using acids, strong alkalis or solvents.
  • Foam: for a foaming pre-wash from a hand pump, see Pump Foamers.

Good to know

  • After use, release the pressure and spray clean water through it, so chemical does not sit on the seals. Store it depressurised and out of direct sun.

What is a pump sprayer used for in car detailing?

Applying pre-wash, citrus cleaner, wheel cleaner and other diluted chemicals in an even mist over a large area, without the hand ache of a trigger bottle. Pump it up, spray the car from the bottom upwards, let the product dwell without drying, then rinse. Mix the chemical to the label first, and our dilution ratio guide explains how.
