Sweet shop. Pear Drops is the scent of the red and yellow pear drop sweets, in a 100ml bottle. Parma Violets is a concentrated aroma of the little purple sweets, also in a 500ml bottle. Lemon Sherbert is a sweet, crisp and zesty citrus, and Bubblegum is the classic.

Fruit. Cherry is strong and vibrant, ripe cherries with rum notes and a deep red tartness, and also comes in a 500ml bottle. Mango is exotic and fresh, like freshly sliced mango, and Summer Fruits is led by raspberry and strawberry, with gentle citrus notes on a sugar sweet vanilla base.

How to use them. Every Secret Scents spray comes in the brand's black bottle with a white atomiser. Fragrance is the last step of a valet: vacuum the carpets and seats, wipe the hard surfaces and deal with the source of any smell first, then mist lightly onto the carpets and mats, never onto screens, the dashboard or paint, and let the cabin air before you drive. Test on a hidden patch of carpet first, and store the bottle upright with the cap on, out of direct sunlight.

About Secret Scents

Secret Scents is a fragrance brand that calls itself the home of luxury aroma. Its own website told the story: what started as an idea between two friends, with founder Will first making cleaning products with a close friend, building up that brand over years and then selling the company. Secret Scents came next, and the brand said it manufactures all of its products in house, for luxury, hand made quality. Alongside car air fresheners, its shop listed bath bombs, bath salts, candles, car diffusers, reed diffusers and wax melts, with the same scent names running across several formats.

Secret Scents perfume-style scents

Smells similar, not the original. Secret Scents describes these scents as smelling similar to well-known perfumes and aftershaves, and says it is in no way affiliated with the designer fragrance companies.

Fresh and woody. One Million opens with grapefruit, blood orange and rose, spiced with cinnamon and mint, over soft white woods, patchouli, amber and leather, and also comes in a 500ml bottle. Savage has bright bergamot top notes and a woody ambroxan trail, and Kreed brings together blackcurrant, bergamot, apple and birch.

Floral and sweet. Black Opium is a gourmand floral of black coffee, white florals and vanilla, also in a 500ml bottle. J Choo has warm, rich and woody notes, with green top notes and a creamy tiger orchid heart, and also comes in a 500ml bottle. Alien is a rich floral, woody amber scent of jasmine sambac, cashmeran wood and white amber.
