Solution Finish Black restores originally black exterior plastic and vinyl, such as bumpers, trim, mud flaps and seals, to a deep, rich black without a greasy wet-look shine. It dries quickly to a natural matte finish with no greasy residue.

  • Formula: silicone-free, made with natural oils and polymer technology, and VOC compliant.
  • Protection: a long-lasting black finish that protects against UV, fading and oxidation.
  • Sizes: the 354ml (12oz) bottle for a whole car or several, and the 30ml (1oz) bottle to try it or treat a few pieces of trim.

About Solution Finish

Solution Finish is an American trim restorer brand with its headquarters in Huntington Beach, California. Its formula was developed by a professional after three years of testing, to restore oxidised, sun-damaged black and grey plastic and vinyl trim. The range includes Solution Finish Black, Fusion Grey for originally grey trim, a plastic and trim cleaner and a sealer.

How to restore faded trim

Clean it first. Faded trim holds old dressing, wax residue and dirt. Clean it well with a plastic and trim cleaner or all-purpose cleaner and a brush, rinse and let it dry completely.

Mask the paint. Run masking tape along the paint edge next to the trim, so the restorer goes only where you want it.

Apply thin. Work a small amount into the trim with an applicator, one section at a time, and spread it evenly. Wipe away any that touches paint or glass straight away.

Let it cure. Keep the trim dry while it sets, then remove the tape. A thin, even coat gives the cleanest matte finish.
