The Brand

Dunking Biscuit

Dunking Biscuit, full name Dunking Biscuit Effortless Detailing, is a car care range that was made by Dunking Biscuit Ltd. On its own website the brand said it produced detailing products for car enthusiasts and detailing professionals, and that detailing is in its DNA, driving it to make products that are simple to use but highly effective. Its range ran from shampoos and snow foams to hybrid paint sealants and quick detailers, with accessories to help with application, removal and maintenance.

The Drivers HQ stocks Dunking Biscuit across car shampoos, snow foams, glass cleaners, wheel cleaners, quick detailers, tyre dressings, microfibre washes and spray air fresheners. Highlights include Aura Ceramic Quick Detailer, Blitz Wheel and Tyre Cleaner, Citrus Blast Bug and Grime Remover, Elixir Plastics and Trim Dressing and Dynamic Microfibre Wash Liquid, with some of them also available in 2500ml bottles or as samples. There is also the Show Wax 01 Cure Kit, the Rim Ticklers Wheel Woolies, The Dunking Hauler detailing bag and Air Fresh in Cherry Cola, Grape and Lemon.

A typical routine starts with a pre-wash on bug splats and road grime, then a wheel and tyre clean before the contact wash with a shampoo and two buckets. After drying, a quick detailer or wax adds gloss and protection, while a trim dressing and glass cleaner finish the exterior. Washing your microfibres with a dedicated liquid helps keep them absorbent for the next detail.

Built Around Effortless Detailing

The brand's full name, Dunking Biscuit Effortless Detailing, sums up its approach. In its own words, detailing was in its DNA, driving it to provide products that are simple to use but highly effective in what they do, made for car enthusiasts and detailing professionals alike. The company's website listed its address in Heanor.

Dunking Biscuit set out three promises on its website: continuous improvement through cutting edge product design, always being responsive to its customers, and delivering products that show exceptional value for money. It also offered sample selection boxes as a way for drivers to get an insight into its products and its values.

From Pre-Wash to Show Wax

Citrus Blast Bug and Grime Remover is a pre-wash cleaner for stubborn dirt, grime and bug splats. Dunking Biscuit says its formula thickens once applied and clings to the paint like a gel to loosen road grime, salts and bug splats, and that it is designed to be safe on all surfaces, waxes and sealants. For the wheels, Blitz Wheel and Tyre Cleaner is non-acidic and non-caustic, and can be used anywhere from neat to a 10:1 dilution depending on how dirty the wheels are.

Aura Ceramic Quick Detailer is an SiO2 infused spray for paintwork, metal, glass and plastics. The brand says a simple spray and wipe gives 3 months of protection, and that Aura works as a maintenance topper over existing protection while removing dust, watermarks and fingerprints. Show Wax 01 is blended from a range of waxes including Carnauba T1 grade wax, and the brand describes it as easy on, easy off, with a show ready shine and a fresh lemon scent.

Aftercare is covered as well. Elixir Plastics and Trim Dressing is a gel that the brand says restores dull, faded trim with a deep waterproof shine and protection for up to 4 weeks, and Dynamic Microfibre Wash Liquid is a mild, concentrated wash made to keep microfibres absorbent, by hand or in the machine. The Dunking Hauler holds 35 litres of kit, with custom loops to keep bottles secure and mesh pockets on the outside.
