Mammoth towels, mitts and tools by job

Mammoth Furry Fist mitt, Infinity XL drying towel, Fluffmeister mitt and pet hair removal tool on a black display plinth

Washing. The Fluffmeister Flex Wash Mitt (also in black and purple) is a Korean microfibre mitt that contours round the panels and, Mammoth says, makes up to four times the suds of a standard mitt. It is safe with high pH chemicals but works best with a pH-neutral shampoo. The Fluffmeister Wash Pad and Mini Washmitt twin pack use the same fibres, the Furry Fist is a thick 100% lambswool mitt for scratch-sensitive paint, and the Green Gremlin is a fluffy microfibre sponge with a curved grip. Other mitts include the Black Onyx chenille, Micro-Chenille, Nemo and Kermitt.

Wheels and tight spots. The Flossmeister (also black) is the Fluffmeister fibre stitched into a band with heavy-duty straps, for wheel spokes, hinges, struts, spoilers and fuel caps. The Wheel Wooly wands come straight and angled, and the Detailing Hose Guides tuck onto the tyre corners so hoses and cables roll past instead of catching under the wheels. The Hydro 720 is Mammoth's premium snow foam lance, with a 1.25mm nozzle and a 360-degree rotating head.

Drying. The Triple Twist towels are dual-sided twisted loop, the Hybrid towels mix twisted and plush fibres, the Infinity XL is a thick, edgeless plush towel and the Uber Guzzler is a waffle weave for streak-free glass. The next tab compares them.

Buffing and glass. For a final buff there are the Infinity edgeless buffing towel, the extra-fluffy Canary towels in orange, purple and Furry Canary, the Blue Ewe polishing towel and the Fine All-rounder towels in blue, green, white and yellow. The All White Glass Towel is a 40 x 60cm waffle weave that cleans glass with a glass cleaner or just water.

Applicators and interior. The Apex applicators are laser-cut, soft open-cell foam pads for wax, and the Foam Finger applicators reach tighter areas. The TPRO and Squaretastic tyre applicators have grooved foam that spreads dressing evenly without dripping. Inside, the Zuko is a soft horsehair brush for leather and Alcantara, the Pet Hair Removal Tool uses flexible rubber to drag hair out of upholstery, and the Deep Clean Carpet Brush and Big / Little Softie brushes finish the job.

Shop Mammoth by type: drying towels, wash mitts and pads, wheel wash mitts, buffing and finishing towels and applicator pads.

About Mammoth Microfibre

Mammoth Microfibres is a UK detailing brand based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, that makes microfibre towels, wash mitts and detailing tools. Its microfibres are made in Korea, and they are designed to be washed and reused, so one towel or mitt lasts through many details. At The Drivers HQ we stock Mammoth online with UK delivery and in our Ilkeston shop. Our customers' favourites are the Triple Twist 70 x 90cm drying towel, the Fluffmeister Flex Wash Mitt, the Flossmeister wash band and the Infinity XL edgeless drying towel.

Which Mammoth drying towel?

Mammoth lists every drying towel by size, weight and weave. Heavier towels hold more water; the weave decides how it feels and what it suits.

  • Triple Twist (1150gsm, dual-sided twisted loop, sewn edge): made for one-pass drying of paintwork, glass, trim and fabric roofs. It comes in 70 x 90cm (also as the Dual XL), the 44 x 75cm Dual Pro and the 20 x 40cm Dual Mini.
  • Hybrid Twist (1100gsm, twisted and plush, suede edge): needs less pressure to absorb and glides over paint, glass and trim. Sizes: 30 x 30cm, 50 x 75cm and 75 x 90cm.
  • Infinity XL (600gsm, thick plush, edgeless): 60 x 80cm, extra soft with an ultrasonic-cut edge, for drying paintwork.
  • Uber Guzzler (376gsm, waffle weave): 50 x 100cm, the one for drying glass streak-free.

Pick the largest size you can handle for the bodywork and keep the Uber Guzzler for the windows. Wash microfibre towels on their own and let them dry naturally.
