DAS-6Entry-level dual action machine polisher

Expert Notes
The DAS-6 V2 is a popular entry-level dual action machine polisher for car enthusiasts and detailers who want better results than hand polishing. The random orbital, free-spinning action makes it more forgiving than a rotary polisher, while still giving enough correction ability to remove swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation when paired with the correct pad and compound. The 9mm orbit works well for general paint correction, gloss enhancement, wax application and sealant application. It is counterweighted for 5 inch pad use, which is useful because 5 inch pads are usually easier to control and more effective on modern vehicle panels than larger pads. This is a proper machine polisher, so paint preparation, pad choice, polish choice and technique still matter.

The Brand
Das6
DAS-6 has been part of the UK detailing scene since at least 2009, when the original machine was already being discussed and recommended by enthusiasts looking for an accessible alternative to rotary polishing. Over time, the DAS-6 name became particularly associated with people making their first move from hand polishing into machine correction.
That remains central to the range today. DAS-6 concentrates specifically on machine polishing, with dual action polishers designed to make paint correction and refinement more manageable for enthusiasts while still offering machines with the power and orbit sizes required by regular and professional users.
A Familiar Name in UK Machine Polishing
The current corded range is built around three distinct machines rather than multiple near-identical models. The DAS-6 V2 uses a 650W motor with a 9mm orbit and is the entry point into the range. It is factory counterweighted for 5-inch pads and supplied with both 5-inch and 6-inch backing plates.
The DAS-6 PRO keeps the compact 9mm orbit but increases motor output to 900W, giving it greater power while retaining the smaller orbit format. The current PRO also accepts backing plates down to 3 inches, increasing its usefulness on tighter sections of bodywork.
For larger panels and faster coverage, the DAS-6 PRO Plus moves to a 15mm orbit and a revised 1000W motor. The longer throw allows the pad to work across a greater area with each orbit, making it better suited to correcting larger areas of paint efficiently.
From Full Panels to Tight Areas
DAS-6 also extends beyond conventional full-size machines with the Nano cordless polisher. Rather than simply shrinking a standard DA, the Nano uses interchangeable heads that allow it to operate with a 3mm dual action movement, 12mm dual action movement or as a rotary. It uses small 1.2-inch and 2-inch pads for areas such as pillars, bumpers, headlights, trim sections and other places where a conventional 5-inch machine is too large.
The Nano is supplied with two 12V 2.5Ah batteries, polishing pads, backing plates and rotary and DA attachments. Combined with the V2, PRO and PRO Plus, this gives DAS-6 a machine range covering small-area precision work, conventional 9mm dual action polishing and longer-throw 15mm correction rather than relying on a single machine format.
