How To Use

Applying

  1. Wash and dry the car first.
  2. Work on a cool panel in the shade.
  3. Mist it onto the panel or onto a microfibre.
  4. Spread it evenly with a clean microfibre.
  5. Buff with a second dry microfibre.

Afterwards

  1. Work one panel at a time.
  2. Let it cure before the car gets wet, as the bottle directs.
  3. Top it up when the beading fades.
  4. Store the bottle upright out of direct sunlight.

Top Tip: Using one towel to spread and a second dry towel to buff leaves a streak-free finish.

It started with one product, Mag & Aluminum Polish in a 4oz can, sold at Southern California swap meets and car shows, and now makes more than 100 products for paint, wheels, metal, trim and interiors. Its range runs from the Classic metal and trim products to the CMX ceramic line and the Power drill-driven polishing tools.

Mothers metal polish, CMX ceramics and Power tools

Metal polish. Mag & Aluminium Polish is the product Mothers started with, for bare aluminium wheels and parts, brass, alloys and other bare metal; its polishing agent is alumina. Work it back and forth, then wipe it off while it is still wet. It is for polishable bare metal, not for coated or painted wheels.

Power tools for metal. The Power range turns a household drill into a polisher. The PowerBall 2 has an elongated ball for a larger polishing area, the PowerBall Mini comes with a 10in Quick Swap Bit extension for tight spots on wheels, diamond plate, light lenses and engine parts, and the PowerCone 360 has a spherical cone, a Quick Swap Bit and a built-in wheel guard. The NuLens Headlight Renewal Kit also runs on a drill, removing oxidation from plastic headlight lenses.

CMX ceramics. CMX Ceramic Spray Coating (710ml) is a spray-on, wipe-off SiO2 and TiO2 protection, on its own or to top up an existing coating. CMX Ceramic Wash & Coat (1,419ml) washes and adds SiO2 protection in one, and CMX Ceramic Trim Restore & Coat darkens and protects unpainted rubber, plastic and vinyl.

Clay. Speed Clay 2.0 is a rubber polymer clay tool that removes overspray, water spots, fresh tree sap, rail dust and bird droppings from paint.

Brushes. Mothers brushes have soft, scratch-free bristles and non-slip grips. The Wheel Brush has a rubber bumper to protect delicate wheel finishes, the Fender Well Arch Brush reaches deep into wheel arches, the Contoured Tyre Brush fits the sidewall to clean tyres before dressing, the Detail Brushes have a rubber seam-cleaning tip for trim and emblems, and the Carpet & Upholstery Brush, about 16cm long, loosens trodden-in dirt for the vacuum.

Wash mitt. The Microfibre Chenille Wash Mitt has thick chenille strands that loosen, trap and lift dirt off the paint.

Odour Eliminator & Refresher. A fine-mist fogger that neutralises odours from food, smoke, mildew and pets instead of masking them, reaching into the ventilation and the carpet and upholstery fibres. In New Car scent or unscented.
