Iron & Fallout Removers

Iron removers dissolve the iron particles from brake dust and rail dust that embed in paint and wheels as orange specks a wash cannot shift. Most turn purple or red as they react, so you can see them working. The range covers sprays such as CarPro IronX and Autobead Iron Fallout Remover, fallout wheel cleaners like Dodo Juice Ferrous Dueller, and CarPro TRIX for iron and tar together.

How to choose

• Paint or wheels: a fallout remover decontaminates paint and wheels, while a fallout wheel cleaner also lifts brake dust and grime, so it suits a regular wheel wash.
• Format: sprays cover a car quickly, CarPro IronX Paste clings to wheel faces, and CarPro IronX Snow Soap removes iron during the wash.
• Smell: most smell strongly of rotten eggs, and low-scent versions such as CarPro IronX LS are easier to live with in a closed garage.

Good to know

• Use it on a cool panel out of the sun, leave it for the time on the label and rinse before it dries. Wear gloves from Gloves & PPE.
• On paint, use it a few times a year before Clay Bars, polishing or coating, not at every wash.

Does iron fallout remover damage paint?

Fallout removers are made to be used on paint, and some, such as CarPro IronX LS, are pH neutral. Use it as the label directs: on a cool panel out of the sun, for the dwell time given, and rinse it off before it dries.
