Expert Notes

This California Scents pack holds four 2D Palm fresheners in Coronado Cherry, which California Scents describes as the scent of tart cherries. Each palm is a palm tree-shaped piece of scented paper that hangs by its loop from the rear-view mirror, and it gives a strong, intense scent. Having four in one pack means a fresh palm is ready to swap in when the first fades, or you can hang one in the car and another at home, in the office or in an RV. Keep the spares packed until needed, clean and vacuum the cabin before hanging one, and keep it clear of trim, glass and your view of the road. The palms are made in China.

Perfect For / Suitable Surfaces

  • Cars
  • Vans
  • Trucks
  • Rear-view mirrors
  • Homes
  • Offices
  • RVs and motorhomes
  • Bathrooms and laundry rooms

Caution: Hang one palm at a time where it cannot obstruct your view of the road, and keep the scented paper off the dashboard, trim or glass.

How To Use

Using it

  1. Take one palm from the pack and leave the others packed until needed.
  2. Hold it by the loop so the fragrance stays off your fingers.
  3. Hang it by the loop from the rear-view mirror or another secure point.
  4. Check that it hangs clear of your view of the road.
  5. Make sure it cannot rest against the dashboard, trim or windscreen.

Making it last

  1. Clean and vacuum the interior first so the scent starts in a fresh cabin.
  2. Hang it where air can move freely around the paper.
  3. Swap in a new palm once you can no longer notice the fragrance.
  4. Store the spare palms in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  5. Hang a spare at home, in the office or in an RV if you like.
  6. Wash your hands after handling the scented paper.

Top Tip: Hang it from the mirror stem, not the mirror glass, so the mirror stays correctly adjusted.

Performance Benefits

  • Fills the cabin with tart cherry scent
  • Helps cover unwanted cabin odours
  • Adds a bright palm tree look
  • Leaves cup holders and pockets free
  • Freshens pet areas and smelly spaces
  • Spreads across car, home and office

The Brand

California Scents

California Scents is a car air freshener brand that, in its own words, transforms your car and your mood with powerful scents that deliver the fun energy that only comes from California. It is one of the auto care brands of Energizer Holdings, alongside names such as Armor All. The official range covers sprays, scent blocs, cans, fibreboard and gel fresheners, foggers, novelty designs, paper hangers, pump sprays, vent fresheners and hanging vials, in fragrances with names such as Coronado Cherry, Monterey Vanilla and Newport New Car.

The Drivers HQ stocks the California Scents Palms paper hanger, sold as the California Scents 2D Palm, in scents including Newport New Car, Ocean Wave, Monterey Vanilla and Capistrano Coconut.

California Scents suits drivers who want an easy way to keep the cabin smelling fresh between washes, or who like a splash of California colour on the rear-view mirror. The Palms hangers hang from the mirror by their loop. Fitting a fresh hanger after an interior clean and vacuum is a simple way to finish the job.

The Fun Energy of California

California Scents describes its purpose simply: its powerful scents are meant to transform your car and your mood, and to deliver the fun energy that only comes from California. The brand's product pages sign off with the words Live fresh, and it describes its Palms hangers as super cute and so California, with a fun palm tree design in bright colours.

That California theme runs through the fragrances themselves. The brand describes its Newport New Car scent as combining a clean new car smell with the scent of vibrant ocean air and salty waves of Newport Beach, and scent names such as Coronado Cherry, Monterey Vanilla, Laguna Breeze and Shasta Strawberry carry the same Californian flavour.

California Scents is part of Energizer Holdings, which lists it among the well-known auto care brands it continues to expand internationally, alongside names such as Armor All and Bahama & Co. The brand's own website carries an Energizer Brands copyright notice.

CALIFORNIA SCENTS 2D PALM CAR AIR FRESHENER - CORONADO CHERRY (4 PACK) - The Drivers HQ

Palms Hangers

The Palms paper hanger is the California Scents format The Drivers HQ stocks. The brand describes Palms as delivering a strong, intense scent to freshen your car, truck or SUV, with a hanging loop for quick, convenient fitting from the rear-view mirror. Each one comes in sealed packaging to help it keep its scent until you are ready to use it, and the brand notes it can also freshen an RV, laundry room or bathroom.

The scents range from fruity to fresh. Coronado Cherry offers the scent of tart cherries, while the brand says Ice delivers notes of rich leather, soft suede and freshly-applied aftershave. The Drivers HQ stocks Palms as single hangers.
