Expert Notes

California Scents Palms in Shasta Strawberry is a flat, palm tree shaped scented paper air freshener, supplied here as a pack of four. It belongs to the California Scents 2D paper palm range, hangs from the rear-view mirror and is made to give a strong, intense scent. It suits cars, trucks, vans and RVs as well as the home and office, so the spare palms are easy to put to use around the house. We suggest hanging one palm after a thorough interior clean, keeping the other three somewhere cool, and pairing it with an interior cleaner, a vacuum and clean microfibre towels so the strawberry fragrance is not competing with dirt or old odours.

Perfect For / Suitable Surfaces

  • Car interiors
  • Trucks
  • Vans
  • Motorhomes and RVs
  • Homes
  • Offices

Caution: Hang it where it cannot block your view of the road, and keep the scented paper off the dashboard, trim and upholstery.

How To Use

Using it

  1. Take one palm from the pack and set the other three aside for later.
  2. Hang it from the rear-view mirror so it swings freely in the cabin.
  3. Check it does not block any part of your view through the windscreen.
  4. Make sure the scented paper cannot rest against the dashboard, glass or trim.

Making it last

  1. Clean and vacuum the interior before hanging so the strawberry fragrance is not masking dirt.
  2. Leave the car closed for a while after hanging to let the scent build.
  3. Replace it with the next palm from the pack when the fragrance fades.
  4. Keep the spare palms somewhere cool and out of direct sunlight.
  5. Keep all fresheners out of reach of children and pets.

Top Tip: Hang the palm in the open air of the cabin, clear of the windscreen view and away from plastic trim.

Performance Benefits

  • Adds a strawberry fragrance to the cabin
  • Delivers a strong, intense scent
  • Freshens the cabin from the mirror
  • Freshens trucks, vans and RVs too
  • Also scents homes and offices
  • Spare palms ready for later

The Brand

California Scents

California Scents is a car air freshener brand that, in its own words, transforms your car and your mood with powerful scents that deliver the fun energy that only comes from California. It is one of the auto care brands of Energizer Holdings, alongside names such as Armor All. The official range covers sprays, scent blocs, cans, fibreboard and gel fresheners, foggers, novelty designs, paper hangers, pump sprays, vent fresheners and hanging vials, in fragrances with names such as Coronado Cherry, Monterey Vanilla and Newport New Car.

The Drivers HQ stocks the California Scents Palms paper hanger, sold as the California Scents 2D Palm, in scents including Newport New Car, Ocean Wave, Monterey Vanilla and Capistrano Coconut.

California Scents suits drivers who want an easy way to keep the cabin smelling fresh between washes, or who like a splash of California colour on the rear-view mirror. The Palms hangers hang from the mirror by their loop. Fitting a fresh hanger after an interior clean and vacuum is a simple way to finish the job.

California Car Scents Air Freshener - The Drivers HQ

The Fun Energy of California

California Scents describes its purpose simply: its powerful scents are meant to transform your car and your mood, and to deliver the fun energy that only comes from California. The brand's product pages sign off with the words Live fresh, and it describes its Palms hangers as super cute and so California, with a fun palm tree design in bright colours.

That California theme runs through the fragrances themselves. The brand describes its Newport New Car scent as combining a clean new car smell with the scent of vibrant ocean air and salty waves of Newport Beach, and scent names such as Coronado Cherry, Monterey Vanilla, Laguna Breeze and Shasta Strawberry carry the same Californian flavour.

California Scents is part of Energizer Holdings, which lists it among the well-known auto care brands it continues to expand internationally, alongside names such as Armor All and Bahama & Co. The brand's own website carries an Energizer Brands copyright notice.

CALIFORNIA SCENTS 2D PALM CAR AIR FRESHENER - CORONADO CHERRY (4 PACK) - The Drivers HQ

Palms Hangers

The Palms paper hanger is the California Scents format The Drivers HQ stocks. The brand describes Palms as delivering a strong, intense scent to freshen your car, truck or SUV, with a hanging loop for quick, convenient fitting from the rear-view mirror. Each one comes in sealed packaging to help it keep its scent until you are ready to use it, and the brand notes it can also freshen an RV, laundry room or bathroom.

The scents range from fruity to fresh. Coronado Cherry offers the scent of tart cherries, while the brand says Ice delivers notes of rich leather, soft suede and freshly-applied aftershave. The Drivers HQ stocks Palms as single hangers.
