The Brand

Sparco

Sparco is an Italian motorsport brand. In its own words, Sparco was born in 1977 from the dream of two young drivers to give motorsport more safety and more style, and Wikipedia describes Sparco S.p.A. as an auto part and accessory company headquartered in Volpiano near Turin. It specialises in seats, steering wheels, harnesses, racewear and helmets, and its official store also has a Lifestyle collection that, in Sparco's words, brings the spirit of motorsports into everyday life through clothing and accessories.

The Drivers HQ stocks Sparco bags and backpacks and footwear: the Large Backpack Rucksack in blue and grey, and the Monza Lesmo Ankle Boots / Trainers in blue.

These are everyday pieces rather than racing equipment, so they suit drivers and motorsport fans who want a nod to the pit lane in what they wear away from the car. The backpacks have a laptop and tablet pocket for daily use, and the Monza Lesmo is a suede sneaker.

Buy Sparco from The Drivers HQ with tracked UK-wide delivery by Royal Mail, or call in at our walk-in store in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, where Click & Collect is free. Whether you are after a backpack for the daily commute or a new pair of trainers, you can add Sparco to the same order as your car care and car culture essentials from the rest of our range.

Safety and Style Since 1977

Sparco's own history begins in 1977. The company says it grew from the dream of two young drivers from Turin who wanted to make their own world, motor racing, safer, at a time of major accidents when the FIA had decided to act. Wikipedia records that the first product to bring Sparco to wider notice was a fireproof racing suit.

Success on track followed quickly. Sparco's timeline records that in 1983 Nelson Piquet won the Formula 1 World Championship with Sparco, and that in the same year the Lancia 037 that won the World Rally Championship had a Sparco seat. In 1990 the brand began a relationship with tuning enthusiasts and started producing accessories for people who wanted to personalise their cars.

Sparco says that 40 years of experience in racing have since led to new businesses, from gaming products to safety shoes. It also offers a Lifestyle collection of clothing and accessories that brings the spirit of motorsports into everyday life. The footwear and bags at The Drivers HQ are Sparco branded everyday pieces rather than racing equipment.

Motorsport Style for Everyday Wear

The Sparco range at The Drivers HQ covers footwear and bags. The Monza Lesmo is a suede sneaker, and the Large Backpack Rucksack has a single main compartment with a laptop and tablet pocket, adjustable shoulder straps and a front zip pocket.

For motorsport fans, these pieces are a simple way to wear a name that has been part of racing since 1977, whether at a track day, a car show or on the daily commute.
