Full Description

This HLR75 STB kit includes two 18V 2.5Ah batteries and a charger. Mains operation requires the optional power supply, which is not included.

The BigFoot Mini iBrid HLR75 Polisher represents the future in the evolution of RUPES tools with iBrid Technology. The 12mm orbit and the 75mm backing plate make it the best solution for difficult shapes and for spot repair operations; a must for any detailer wishing to obtain perfect results, even in the most difficult areas.

The new iBrid Technology concept, already featured on the BigFoot iBrid Nano Polishers and the Q-MAG iBrid Nano Sander, increases process efficiency and optimizes the user experience, providing more versatility for the operator, thanks to the functionality as both battery powered and cord powered tool. The HLR75 also features optimized ergonomics, which make it comfortable and easy to use, while the innovative design provides incredible manoeuvrability and balance to guarantee precise and efficient polishing results.

iBRID TECHNOLOGY

The innovative iBrid Technology, already featured on the iBrid Nano polisher and the Q-MAG iBrid Nano sander, allows the RUPES iBrid tools to be configured to run on either battery or corded power, providing the user with even more versatility during any operation.

MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY

Thanks to the backing pad with small diameter, the HLR75 is perfect in polishing applications on small and intricate areas. The small tool body dimensions and the 12mm orbit allow a comfortable handling and accuracy in detail polishing.

ELECTRONIC SPEED CONTROL MODULE

The speed controller is both practical and easy to use. It allows adjusting the speed of the polisher without interrupting the work and provides high visibility of the selected setting, even during operation.

BATTERY AND BATTERY CHARGE

Li ION Battery (18V 2.5 Ah) with LED indicator showing the charge level. Between 35 and 45 minutes of battery life while operating. The Battery Charger is custom designed to fit the iBrid Mini’s unique battery pack system. The charging station indicates charge status using integrated LED lights and provides 100% charge from approximately 35 minutes.

How To Use

Polishing

  1. Wash, decontaminate and dry the car first.
  2. Fit a clean small pad centred on the backing plate.
  3. Prime the pad with a little polish and spread it at low speed.
  4. Work the tight area with slow, short passes, then wipe off and check.

Afterwards

  1. Switch it off and disconnect the power.
  2. Remove and clean the pad.
  3. Blow dust from the vents.
  4. Store it dry, in its case if it has one.

Top Tip: Checking the panel with the back of your hand between passes stops a small pad overheating an edge.

RUPES is an Italian maker of professional power tools, founded in Milan in 1947, with its operational headquarters at Vermezzo, near Milan. Its stated mission is to develop electric, pneumatic and low-voltage tools and dust extraction that improve users' working conditions, and its range runs from sanders and grinders to dust-extraction systems. For detailers it is best known for BigFoot, the long-throw random orbital polishing system it introduced in 2010 with 15mm and 21mm orbits, together with colour-coded D-A pads and compounds made to work as one system. RUPES holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for polishing and sanding systems and their consumables.

RUPES BigFoot polishers

LHR15 Mark V. The BigFoot LHR15 Mark V is a corded random orbital polisher with a 15mm orbit and a 125mm backing plate: 500W, 3,000 to 5,200rpm, 2.35kg and a 9m cable. RUPES fitted POLYSYNTHEC composite gears that need less lubrication, and says noise is down 47% on earlier models. It comes as the machine only, the BAS Kit with a first set of pads, compounds and cloths, or the 17-piece LUX Kit. RUPES gives five years' warranty when the polisher is registered after purchase. The earlier LHR15 Mark III is also listed.

Cordless iBrid. The HLR15 iBrid (15mm orbit) and HLR21 iBrid (21mm orbit, for broad panels) come as kits with two 18V 5Ah batteries and a dual charger; RUPES quotes up to 40 minutes per battery at full power under its stated conditions. The HLR75 iBrid Mini has a 12mm orbit and a 75mm plate for tight shapes and spot repairs, with two 18V 2.5Ah batteries and a charger. Mains use needs the optional power supply.

Gear driven, rotary and sanding. The LK900E Mille is a 900W gear-driven polisher with a 5mm orbit: the drive forces both rotation and orbit, for strong cutting with low heat build-up. The LH19E is a 2.2kg rotary with anti-vibration loop and side handles, and the LHR12E Duetto is a 12mm orbit machine for both sanding and polishing.

RUPES colour-codes its D-A system so pad and compound match: blue for heavy cutting, yellow for fine polishing, white for ultra-fine finishing. Its D-A microfibre pads are made larger than the backing plate to protect the edge.

One step and specialist. UNO Protect is a polish and sealant in one, containing polymer, silicone and carnauba, for light defects on rotary, dual action or gear-driven machines; RUPES quotes up to 90 days' protection. XC-2 Xtra Cut is a fast-cutting compound for gelcoat, hard paint and high-solid industrial finishes. The sample pack holds four 125ml bottles to try the range.

Sanding. X-Cut foam-backed discs sand wet or dry before polishing, 20 to a pack: 125mm in P1500, P2000 and P3000, and 75mm in P1500, P2000 and P3000. Soft interface pads in 125mm and 75mm let the disc follow curved panels.
