The green Hex-Logic pad is Chemical Guys' heavy polishing pad: it cuts like a cutting pad to remove light to moderate swirls, scratches and oxidation, then finishes like a finishing pad, restoring reflection, clarity and depth. That makes it the pad for one-step work with a cleaner wax or an all-in-one polish, where you correct and finish in a single pass.

It has the full Hex-Logic design: V-cut channels that pull in air to cool the pad, a rounded profile for curves, a bevelled edge to protect paint from the backing plate and a breathable hook-and-loop backing. This listing is the 5.5 inch pad. One pad is included.

How To Use

Using it

  1. Centre the pad on a hook-and-loop backing plate that suits a 5.5in pad.
  2. Apply five small dots of polish to the pad face, as Chemical Guys advises.
  3. Spray a light mist of pad conditioner onto the face.
  4. Polish one test section to see if a single pass gives the finish you want.
  5. Work small sections with slow, overlapping passes and even pressure.
  6. Buff off residue with a clean microfibre towel and check the gloss.

Cleaning and storage

  1. Brush out the pad between sections to remove spent polish.
  2. Wash it in warm water with a dedicated pad cleaner after the job.
  3. Press out water gently, without wringing or twisting the foam.
  4. Dry the pad face down in a clean, airy spot.
  5. Store it dry in a sealed bag, apart from cutting and wax pads.

Mr. Pink is a pH-balanced shampoo that Chemical Guys says is safe on existing protection, used in a bucket, foam gun or foam cannon; its dose is 1 to 3oz (about 30 to 90ml) in a 5 gallon (about 19 litre) bucket.
