Full Description

CarPro UltraCut is a versatile cutting compound suitable for all defect removal. A blend of fully diminishing abrasives corrects heavy defects with minimal hazing, and you can change how much it cuts through your choice of pad and how you move the machine.

Use it with CarPro cutting pads or microfibre pads for heavy correction, or drop to the CarPro orange polishing pad to finish down hologram-free even on sensitive paints. Extremely low dust and a long-working lubricant let the abrasives break down fully on a rotary or DA. Sizes: 250ml, 500ml and 1L.

UltraCut adapts to the job. On a wool or microfibre cutting pad it takes out heavy defects, and on a softer polishing pad it can finish down cleanly, so one bottle covers a lot of a correction.

CarPro gives it a lubricant that lets the abrasives work for longer, which means total breakdown with less marring and fewer holograms.

CarPro US calls it the heaviest cut compound CarPro has created, rated to remove P1200 sanding marks and up, yet it still finishes down hologram-free on an orange polishing pad.

How To Use

Dual action

  1. Prime a clean, dry pad with a very thin worked-in layer of compound, then add 3 to 4 pea-sized drops.
  2. Spread it across the section.
  3. Raise the speed to high (4 to 5).
  4. Use minimal pressure for the first 2 to 3 passes and increase it with each pass.
  5. Blow air on the pad often.
  6. When the scratches disappear or the compound turns clear, wipe clean with a microfibre towel.
  7. Clean the pad, add 2 to 4 pea-sized drops and move on.

Rotary

  1. Prime the pad the same way and add 3 to 4 pea-sized drops.
  2. Keep the polisher on low speed, 1000 to 1200 RPM.
  3. Start with minimal pressure and increase with each pass up to maximum, then finish with low pressure.
  4. Wipe clean when the scratches disappear, then clean the pad.

Top Tip: Change the cut with the pad: a cutting pad or microfibre for heavy defects, the orange polishing pad to finish down.

The CarPro range: prepare, protect, maintain

CarPro organises its products around the order you work on a car, which makes it easy to build a kit that suits your car and the time you have.

Prepare. Clean and decontaminate first. Lift is a concentrated pre-wash snow foam, IronX dissolves iron fallout with an acid-free, pH-balanced formula and turns purple-red as it works, and TRIX removes iron and tar in one go. For paint correction, ClearCut takes out scratches as deep as P1000, Fixer cuts and finishes in a single step, and Reflect refines the finish before a coating. Eraser then removes polishing oils so the coating can bond.

Protect. CQ UK 3.0 is CarPro's consumer ceramic coating: 70% SiO2, applied from 3 to 40°C and rated for 18 to 24 months. There are dedicated coatings for film and plastic trim (CQUARTZ Skin), glass (GForce, built on CarPro's DQUARTZ nano-diamond technology) and leather (CQuartz Leather 2.0), plus quicker options such as HydrO2, a spray-on, rinse-off silica sealant rated for up to 6 months.

Maintain. Reset is the pH-neutral shampoo made for coated cars and dilutes 1:500. Hydro Foam washes and leaves a silica layer in one step, ECH2O is a waterless wash and quick detailer, and MFX restores the absorbency of your microfibre towels.

Where to start with CarPro

New to CarPro? Start with the products that make the biggest difference to a normal wash: Reset, Lift and a pair of Dilute bottles, which have printed ratios from 1:1 to 1:30 so every concentrate is mixed correctly. WheelX is the CarPro product our customers buy most often: a ready-to-use wheel cleaner that is safe on coated, chrome and powder-coated wheels.

Ready to protect your paint? Work in this order:

  • Wash with Lift and Reset, then remove iron fallout with IronX.
  • Polish if the paint needs it, from ClearCut for deeper marks to Reflect for a final finish.
  • Wipe each panel with Eraser and apply CQ UK 3.0 one panel at a time.
  • Keep the coating at its best with Reset and a top-up of HydrO2 or Hydro Foam every few months.

For tyres and trim, DarkSide and Perl are the favourites: Perl dilutes up to 5:1, from a rich finish on tyres to a satin look on plastics, and ReTyre cleans tyres and rubber before you dress them.
