CarPro DQUARTZ Go brings CarPro's DQUARTZ nanodiamond coating technology to an easy DIY package. Reformulated from the professional DQUARTZ for everyday users, it keeps the durability and hardness-increasing properties, with a smoother, slicker finish.

CarPro says it increases surface hardness by up to 5 points, with extreme abrasion resistance, strong water beading and UV and chemical resistance. It works on paint and on most metals, and one layer is enough. This is the 50ml size.

CarPro calls DQUARTZ the toughest companion to CQUARTZ, and Go puts that technology in a DIY package. Choose it when wear resistance matters most, for example on a car that is washed often.

Keep the aftercare simple: wash with Reset, decontaminate with Iron X now and then, and skip the topper unless you have a reason, as CarPro advises.

CarPro spent a year validating the Go formula before release, and CarPro US says a smoothing formula based on fluoropolymers gives it a slick touch once cured.

How To Use

Prepare

  1. Wash, decontaminate, machine polish and panel wipe the paint.
  2. Do not use a polish with fillers before coating.

Apply

  1. Work out of direct sun and off hot panels.
  2. Wrap a suede applicator around the applicator block, or use a microfibre applicator.
  3. Shake the bottle, point it away from your face and open it slowly.
  4. Drag one or two lines of coating along the applicator.
  5. Spread over about 2 sq ft at a time in a criss-cross or overlapping pattern with light, even pressure.
  6. Wait 5 to 15 minutes until it feels slightly tacky, then wipe off gently with a clean microfibre towel.
  7. Remove all residue before moving on, and change the suede every 1 to 2 panels.

Aftercare

  1. For a second layer, wait 1 hour from when you started the first.
  2. Keep the car out of the weather for 48 hours.
  3. CarPro does not recommend a topper unless you have a good reason. If you use one, wait at least 1 hour for CQUARTZ SiC or 4 hours for Reload.

Top Tip: Test one 2ft x 2ft section first. The flash time changes with temperature, humidity, air flow and how thickly you apply it.

HQ Suggests Tips & Insights

  1. Level in ambient light and check each panel from different angles for high spots.
  2. Wash with CarPro Reset, as other soaps can leave residue that upsets the beading.
  3. Decontaminate with Iron X every 3 to 12 months, depending on mileage.
  4. Do not reuse suede applicators or the levelling towels on paint.
  5. It is ready to level when it changes in wetness or starts to bead.
  6. Thin coats flash faster, while thick coats and cold air slow it down.
  7. Lift a high spot found within minutes with a little more coating.

The CarPro range: prepare, protect, maintain

CarPro organises its products around the order you work on a car, which makes it easy to build a kit that suits your car and the time you have.

Prepare. Clean and decontaminate first. Lift is a concentrated pre-wash snow foam, IronX dissolves iron fallout with an acid-free, pH-balanced formula and turns purple-red as it works, and TRIX removes iron and tar in one go. For paint correction, ClearCut takes out scratches as deep as P1000, Fixer cuts and finishes in a single step, and Reflect refines the finish before a coating. Eraser then removes polishing oils so the coating can bond.

Protect. CQ UK 3.0 is CarPro's consumer ceramic coating: 70% SiO2, applied from 3 to 40°C and rated for 18 to 24 months. There are dedicated coatings for film and plastic trim (CQUARTZ Skin), glass (GForce, built on CarPro's DQUARTZ nano-diamond technology) and leather (CQuartz Leather 2.0), plus quicker options such as HydrO2, a spray-on, rinse-off silica sealant rated for up to 6 months.

Maintain. Reset is the pH-neutral shampoo made for coated cars and dilutes 1:500. Hydro Foam washes and leaves a silica layer in one step, ECH2O is a waterless wash and quick detailer, and MFX restores the absorbency of your microfibre towels.

Where to start with CarPro

New to CarPro? Start with the products that make the biggest difference to a normal wash: Reset, Lift and a pair of Dilute bottles, which have printed ratios from 1:1 to 1:30 so every concentrate is mixed correctly. WheelX is the CarPro product our customers buy most often: a ready-to-use wheel cleaner that is safe on coated, chrome and powder-coated wheels.

Ready to protect your paint? Work in this order:

  • Wash with Lift and Reset, then remove iron fallout with IronX.
  • Polish if the paint needs it, from ClearCut for deeper marks to Reflect for a final finish.
  • Wipe each panel with Eraser and apply CQ UK 3.0 one panel at a time.
  • Keep the coating at its best with Reset and a top-up of HydrO2 or Hydro Foam every few months.

For tyres and trim, DarkSide and Perl are the favourites: Perl dilutes up to 5:1, from a rich finish on tyres to a satin look on plastics, and ReTyre cleans tyres and rubber before you dress them.
