Full Description

CarPro CQUARTZ DLUX is a ceramic coating for alloy wheels, faded plastic and rubber trim. It has a thicker film build than other CQUARTZ coatings and 50% silica by volume, restoring a rich, glossy finish on trim and protecting it from future fading.

On painted, polished or chromed wheels, DLUX resists brake dust and road grime, so the wheels clean up without a dedicated wheel cleaner. CarPro US rates it at up to two years or more, with heat tolerance up to about 540°C, and about 10ml covers a whole vehicle. Sizes: 30ml and 100ml.

A trim dressing sits on top of the plastic and wears away with washing. DLUX is a coating that bonds to the surface, which is why it restores the colour and outlasts a conventional dressing.

On wheels the benefit shows when you clean them: brake dust and road grime struggle to stick, so a normal wash is usually enough. Prepare the wheel properly with Iron X and Eraser first, because the coating bonds to whatever is underneath.

CarPro gave DLUX a thicker film build than its other CQUARTZ coatings and 50% silica by volume, because trim and wheels take more abuse than paint.

How To Use

Plastic and rubber trim

  1. Work on a cool, dry surface out of direct sun.
  2. Scrub the trim with an all purpose cleaner and a microfibre towel, then rinse and dry.
  3. Wipe with CarPro Eraser and let it evaporate for 20 minutes.
  4. Put a strip of DLUX on the applicator and spread it evenly over a small area, working out from one corner.
  5. On textured trim, work it fully into the texture and do not wipe it off.
  6. On smooth plastic, wipe it off before it becomes too sticky.

Painted and chrome wheels

  1. Wash thoroughly and decontaminate with Iron X.
  2. Polish if needed, then wipe down with CarPro Eraser.
  3. Apply DLUX evenly.
  4. Let it cure for 1 minute at 32°C, up to 8 minutes at 10°C, then wipe in a circular motion until clear.

Top Tip: Keep DLUX dry for 1 to 3 hours after applying and wipe off any water in the first 24 hours. Wash as normal after 3 days.

The CarPro range: prepare, protect, maintain

CarPro organises its products around the order you work on a car, which makes it easy to build a kit that suits your car and the time you have.

Prepare. Clean and decontaminate first. Lift is a concentrated pre-wash snow foam, IronX dissolves iron fallout with an acid-free, pH-balanced formula and turns purple-red as it works, and TRIX removes iron and tar in one go. For paint correction, ClearCut takes out scratches as deep as P1000, Fixer cuts and finishes in a single step, and Reflect refines the finish before a coating. Eraser then removes polishing oils so the coating can bond.

Protect. CQ UK 3.0 is CarPro's consumer ceramic coating: 70% SiO2, applied from 3 to 40°C and rated for 18 to 24 months. There are dedicated coatings for film and plastic trim (CQUARTZ Skin), glass (GForce, built on CarPro's DQUARTZ nano-diamond technology) and leather (CQuartz Leather 2.0), plus quicker options such as HydrO2, a spray-on, rinse-off silica sealant rated for up to 6 months.

Maintain. Reset is the pH-neutral shampoo made for coated cars and dilutes 1:500. Hydro Foam washes and leaves a silica layer in one step, ECH2O is a waterless wash and quick detailer, and MFX restores the absorbency of your microfibre towels.

Where to start with CarPro

New to CarPro? Start with the products that make the biggest difference to a normal wash: Reset, Lift and a pair of Dilute bottles, which have printed ratios from 1:1 to 1:30 so every concentrate is mixed correctly. WheelX is the CarPro product our customers buy most often: a ready-to-use wheel cleaner that is safe on coated, chrome and powder-coated wheels.

Ready to protect your paint? Work in this order:

  • Wash with Lift and Reset, then remove iron fallout with IronX.
  • Polish if the paint needs it, from ClearCut for deeper marks to Reflect for a final finish.
  • Wipe each panel with Eraser and apply CQ UK 3.0 one panel at a time.
  • Keep the coating at its best with Reset and a top-up of HydrO2 or Hydro Foam every few months.

For tyres and trim, DarkSide and Perl are the favourites: Perl dilutes up to 5:1, from a rich finish on tyres to a satin look on plastics, and ReTyre cleans tyres and rubber before you dress them.
